Ok, well, I discovered that the Swipe widget is apparently smarter than I am. It turns out that in order for layers to be shown in the Swipe widget's pick list, they have to be turned on (enabled) in the Layers list. So by putting a check mark in front of a layer name in the Layers list, that will then make the layer show up in the Swipe widget's pick list.

I added the Swipe widget to my ArcGIS Online web mapping application and configured the widget to display all the layers in the map. However, when I click on the Swipe widget, it does not show all of the layers in the pick list. Here are some screenshots: The above screenshot shows all of the layers that I have turned on, or enabled, in the Swipe widget's configuration settings. The screenshot below shows the layers that are presented to the user. I cannot figure out why the pick list (above) does not show a scrollable list of all the layers that I enabled in the configuration settings. Any ideas why all the layers that I enabled in the configuration settings are not showing in the pick list?

Wow, that's just unbelievable that there's apparently no way for coworkers to share the duty of updating/overwriting hosted feature layers using an ArcPro project. I guess the only way to do it is to have my coworker log in to my AGOL account using my credentials and my Smartcard, which would be a HUGE security violation in my organization. ESRI, are you listening? This needs to be fixed.

I had our AGOL administrator create a shared update group. The setting "What items in the group can its members update?" was set to ALL. I was added to the group with the manager role. My coworker was added to the group as a member. The data layers that need to be updated by both myself and coworker are shared with the group. At this point, everything seems to be set up the way it should be. But my coworker still cannot update the layers. Maybe I'm just not understanding how this shared updating stuff works. Here's what I'm doing: 1) I have an ArcPro project that I use to publish feature classes to hosted feature layers. 2) Since I use this one ArcPro project to publish multiple hosted feature layers, I have all of those feature layers organized into a "Master Data Layers" folder that is associated with my login on AGOL. 3) When I want to update a hosted feature layer, in the ArcPro project, I click Share > Share As > Web Layer > Overwrite Web Layer. 4) I am then presented with a dialog box that shows my folders within Portal > My Content. 5) I can then click on my folder named "Master Data Layers" to see the hosted feature layers within that folder. I then select a hosted feature layer and update it. As I stated in my original post, using the ArcPro project (referenced in Step 1 above) my coworker cannot see my folder named "Master Data Layers". All she sees are the folders that are in her Portal > My Content. And because she cannot see my "Master Data Layers" folder, which is where the hosted feature layers that need to be updated are located, she cannot update the layers. Without the ability to share folders, I don't see how it's possible for multiple people to use an ArcPro project in order to update hosted feature layers. What am I missing here?

Megan, There is no setting on my group's Settings page of "What items in the group can its members update?" Here's a screenshot of the Settings page: I also do not get that setting when I create a new group. Here's an example of what I see when creating a new group: The question "What items in the group can its members update?" is not presented to me. I've tried this in Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and Firefox. Same result in all three browsers - no question of "What items in the group can its members update?"

I need the ability for coworkers to update hosted feature layers that are located in a folder. Currently, I'm the only one that can see the folder (and the hosted feature layers that it contains) and update the feature layers. My coworkers cannot see the folder, so they can't update the hosted feature layers. It seems if I could share the folder with my coworkers, then they'd be able to see the folder and its hosted feature layers, and then be able to update the layers. Folder sharing needs to be implemented.

Here's the situation: 1) I have an ArcPro project that I use to update several hosted feature layers. 2) When I want to update a hosted feature layer, in the ArcPro project, I click Share > Share As > Web Layer > Overwrite Web Layer. 3) I am then presented with a dialog box that shows my folders within Portal > My Content. 4) I can then click on my folder named "Master Data Layers" to see the hosted feature layers within that folder. I then select a hosted feature layer and update it. The above works just fine, no problem, as long as I'm the one who performs the update. The issue I have is that I need figure out how a coworker can also use the same ArcPro project to update the hosted feature layers. In my office, there are two of us that do GIS work, and I am typically the one who updates the layers. However, if I'm out of the office and can't do the update, the other person will need to update the layers. The problem is that I can't figure out how to make the hosted feature layers that are located within my folder "Master Data Layers" visible to the other person. When they open the ArcPro project and do Step 2 (above), they see their own folders within their Portal > My Content, and they don't see my "Master Data Layers" folder. They therefore can't select the hosted feature layer that needs to be updated. Here's what I've done to try to fix this: 1) I created a group named "Updaters". 2) I added my coworker to the "Updaters" group and assigned them the "Group manager" role. 3) In the ArcPro project, in the "Overwrite Web Layer" pane, in the "Share With" section, I made sure that the "Updaters" group was checked on, and published the layer. 4) In AGOL, under "Groups", I viewed the "Updaters" group and the hosted feature layer that I just published was in fact listed in the "Content" tab. So my question is, how do I set things up so that my coworker can also use the ArcPro project to update hosted feature layers? Thanks, Scott

I recently had to delete a hosted feature service and recreate it. This feature service has 8 layers, and each layer uses the query widget to define multiple search/filter criteria. After recreating the feature service, I had to go back into the query widget and laboriously rebuild all of the search/filter criteria for each of the 8 layers in the feature service. It would be great if the query widget offered a way to export a layer's search/filter criteria to an XML file, and then also be able to import the XML back into the query widget. This would provide a quick and easy way of backing up and restoring your search/filter criteria when you need to recreate a feature service, rather than having to re-do everything manually. This idea is not limited to just the query widget. It could also be applied to any other AGOL widget, such as the attribute table, where you set configuration options. Having the ability to export all of your widget configuration settings to XML, and then import the settings back into the widgets, would be a great way to document your project, safeguard your settings, and easily and quickly restore them if something bad happens, without having to laboriously recreate everything manually.

Related to this, it would be great if we could resize the little tiny window so that we could see more and have more room to work on and organize our queries.

This issue has been fixed in ArcGIS Earth 1.10. It now correctly gets all layers in a feature service.

This is probably a long shot, but I wonder if what you're seeing is a browser cache issue. Maybe try clearing your web browser's cache and see if that fixes the problem.

I have a dashboard that uses several serial charts. Each chart shows several categories, and each category displays an acreage associated with it. I want to display the sum total of all categories in a chart directly in the chart, and I don't see a way of doing that in the Operations Dashboard. Here's a visual that illustrates what I'm trying to achieve: Above, you can see that there are 16 categories with an associated acreage. It's good to see how much acreage each category has, but if you want to see what the grand total acreage is, you have to pull out a calculator. Pretty tedious and error-prone. Below is a mock-up of what I'd like to see: See the total acreage listed? That's what I'd like to achieve in all of my Operations Dashboard serial charts. This seems like an obvious thing to have, but I don't see any way of doing this. Any ideas?

This issue was a known bug in AGOL. Today's ESRI update to ArcGIS Online has fixed this issue, so all is well. The basemap thumbnail images now correctly show in the Basemap Gallery for web apps that require an enterprise login.
