Hi,

When using the Polygon to Raster tool is there any way to specify the extent of the result grid?

The result I'm getting is only cells where there are polygons and no cells where there is no polygon. When I then use Raster Calculator to try to add the values of the new raster to another raster with a full grid the result is only the cells from the new raster and all the cells from the other grid are lost.

I'm sure there's something simple I'm missing here but I've spent several hours now looking at help and trying things but with no success.

Any help will be appreciated.

Hi Rob,

Try looking at your Geoprocessing -> Environment Settings -> Raster Analysis

There you can change the mask and cell size to match one of your map layers.  Are you using ArcGIS 10.x or 9.x?

Thanks,
Sol

Hi,

Thanks for responding. I'm using version 10.1.2. I just set the Mask in the Raster Environments as you suggested. I set it to a raster with the same extent and grid size that I need but it didn't work.

Cheers anyway
