Consuming a REST Locator geocode server from ArcMap 10.2

Hello,

I am attempting to consume a REST Locator endpoint, however it appears that only SOAP endpoints can be consumed from ArcMap.

Is this expected and by design? If so are there any plans to allow ArcMap to consume REST Geocode Server Endpoints? If not can an endpoint and method please be forwarded.

For Example:

http://sampleserver1.arcgisonline.com/ArcGIS/rest/services

http://sampleserver1.arcgisonline.com/ArcGIS/rest/services/Locators/ESRI_Geocode_EU/GeocodeServer
