I have a JavaScript application consuming a webmap from ArcGIS.com. The webmap contains a polygon layer that contains several thousand features over a large area. I don't want to show all the polygons on the map, but I would still like to click on the map and show a popup for the layer if there is a polygon there.
I believe this can be done if you set a Feature Layer to the SELECTION mode and then connect an click event to the map that will query the layer and show the popup. However, since I am using layers contained within an ArcGIS.com webmap, I'm not sure how to se the mode of the layer in the map to SELECTION. Is this even possible?
