Hi,
I am unable to use publish client tool from ArcCatalog.  When I try to publish resource from ArcCatalog, I am getting an error message stating "http status 401 - this request requires http authentication ()".

Did any body faced the same kind of problem.???

Any help appreciated...

Thanks,
~Paul

did you login to the publish client with a Geoportal username/password that can publish content?

Hi Marten,
Thanks for the reply.  Yes, I am logging using Geoportal username&password and publishing it from ArcCatalog.  I've created a metadata file using "Export Metadata" option for a particular dataset and tested whether Publish client tool is able to publish the metadata to Geoportal site or not.  It??s working properly and after approving the posted resource in Geoportal it is coming inside the search page.

But when I use metadata editor from ArcCatalog (UK Gemini) to create a metadata file, it is creating the metadata and also able to save without any error, when I point this file while publishing to geoportal, it is giving me the error.

I am not sure where I am doing wrong while creating metadata file using editor in ArcCatalog.

Thanks and Regards,
~Paul
