Moving FC

Is there a tool in the toolbox (or python) that moves the object on the map at a given distance?
I found a possibility but I have to do it while editing.

In short...no, static objects (ie shapefiles) can't be moved unless edited, check out the tracking analyst should you wish to show temporal animatiosn
