How to enter stops in the find_routes function?

In what format do stops have to be entered into the find_routes function from the ArcGIS Python API? I have looked at examples of it, but am still not fully understanding how it has to be entered into the function. A quick heads up, I am relatively new to programming so I'm still getting familiar with the terminology. Thank you!
