Data Driven Pages in ArcGIS10 are very useful, however whenever my data frame is set to automatically rotate my annotation layers and groups do not. The result: annotations aligned to face north rather than the angle of the data frame (aka: unusable annotations). With more complex maps annotation layers are unavoidable.

Does anyone know of a way to add a dynamic rotation to annotations?

Any luck with finding a solution?

I am also looking for a way to accomplish this without having to manually rotate each piece of annotation.

No, not yet. The only solution so far is to create an entirely new layer for the labels. It's not practical for maps with detailed toponymy, but does the job.  Unfortunately, the layer (created for labeling) will not be suitable at multiple scales.
I'm still in search of a more practical solution; perhaps something that would allow the data driven pages to control which annotations are visible.
