I wanted to build a web application using the JavaScript API. We have ArcGIS Server 9.2.

I note that at the ArcGIS Resource Center:

http://help.arcgis.com/en/webapi/javascript/arcgis/help/jshelp_start.htm

It says:

The Services Directory is available as part of the REST services infrastructure available with ArcGIS Server 9.3 installations.

Does that mean that with ArcGIS Server 9.2, we do not have the Rest infrastructure?

Does that mean that we cannot use the JavaScript API at all?

Or if we can still use the JavaScript API, how would I get the URL to a map Service on my ArcGIS server 9.2 to display in my JavaScript map?

Yeah, that means what it says.  It doesn't exist until you install 9.3 minimum.  Upgrading is the only option.

Does that apply to just REST? Or the whole JavaScript API?

I don't think upgrading is an option due to the high costs. The only reason we got ArcGIS Server 9.2 was because we were existing ArcIMS 9.1 customers when 9.2 was released, but I do not think we are covered for any free subsequent upgrades.

Does this apply to FLEX aswell?
