Water Geometric Network with Loops

I am creating a geometric network for an existing water database; once the network is created I find all sorts of loops which is causing indeterminate flow and I'm unable to trace upstream or downstream.  I've downloaded a tool that will enable me to change the flow direction.  However, this is a pressurized main and I'm not sure how to handle determining where the flow should change within the loop.  My background is with electric geometric networks so this is all new to me.  Can anyone tell me how they handle this?  Or point me in the right direction?

I'm using ArcInfo 9.3.1

Thanks, Lisa

You have a few options for setting flow in a pressurized water network.  With loops, flow can change throughout the day.  We typically see people set the flow in a direction and assume that is the flow.  The other option is to leave the flow as indeterminate and check the option to trace indeterminate flow.  This is a good question for the group, hopefully others with setting flow in a pressurized network will share their experiences.
