Setting Target Locations

I'd like to get clarification on some basic instructions about Setting Target Locations.

A document with my basic understanding is attached.

Please chime it to correct or affirm the guidelines.

This is correct.

Additionally, if  the mxd is not saved, the target will be set to the user temp workspace (vector workspace would then be untitled.gdb).
The target gdb is created explicitely when using the Set Target Locations function. If it does not exist, the target vector will be created when using any tool from the toolbar that needs to write vector data. Note that some of the arc hydro geoprocessing tools may not create the target workspace (in particular the script tools).
