Hello, I am working on a term project dealing with fracking locations and the National Hydrology Database; I managed to use some tools provided to merge them all into one geodatabase, however now I need to project that whole geodatabase into a pcs.
They claim to have a tool for that on their site: http://nhd.usgs.gov/nhd_faq.html#q403
They further link to an ftp server run by the united states forest service, which coincidentally is down at the current moment: the file in question is this: ftp://ftp2.fs.fed.us/incoming/wo/nris/water_abat/Reprojection_Tool_v2/
Does anyone have access to this file on their own system, or have their own script that systematically goes through and reprojects all files in a database? Many thanks if you have it, and can share it with me!

You could use ModelBuilder with a Feature Class Iterator to do this task. Just add the Iterator, point it to your geodatabase, add the Project tool, fill in Project tool parameters.

sorry, that didn't seem to work. It gave me a file, but the file doesn't show anything when used on arcmap

Hello,

I am encountering the same difficulty as nice2835 in retrieving the USFS Reprojection Tool. Has there been any progress in finding a resolution to the issue.

Thank you,

J

Devon,

I too am working on a term project and understand where you are coming from. After making an inquiry with a friend in the USFS, I was redirected to one of their many GIS Specialists. This ultimately led to me receiving a copy of the tool. Unfortunately, the contents of the zip file are too large for upload on this forum. If you have a gmail account I can forward the files to you through google drive. Let me know if you would to do this.

Regards,

James

James, I appreciate your offer! I as well went through the similar steps that you did, and I managed to get version 2.2 for arc GIS 10.0, however it didn't seem to be working properly with my data sets from the NHD. If you have a version that works in arc 10.1 or 10.2 please let me know. my email is nice2835@gmail.com, and you can share with me any files that you may have via google drive.
I finished my term project already and had to switch over from working with the NHD because of this, but I am still interested. Sure, send me the file.
