Determining floodwater storage capacity of wetlands in a catchment

Hi - I've been using ArcHydro and WIM to establish predicted wetlands in a case study river catchment. Very happy with the WIM results. I need to provide the customer not only with potential to increase areas of wetlands (have now ticked this box) but also an estimate of the storage capacity of flood water for these predicted wetlands.

2 questions please:

1) Can someone please highlight for me the ArcHydro tools to determine this? Here's the process i was thinking about - potentially I can convert the raster output of WIM to polygons, then use ArcHydro (or WIM?) to calculate the water volume of these wertland areas.

2) In parallel, other consultants are looking at detention bunds and flood plain restoration, providing their respective flood mitigating capacity in m3 per second. If you have any suggestions for how to calculate this, once the potential flood water storage volume in 1) above is established.

Please note this work is for a pilot study so we are not hung up on exacting detail, more on the comparative value of nature based solutions for flood mitigation - both as individual solutions and as an integrated system.
