Arc Hydro tools Requirements?

Hi, I would like to know if ArcHydro needs to have the Spatial Analyst license. For old versions I found a table that for each tool said whether the extension and the required license level were necessary. Is this a new document now?

Unfortunately, we have not maintained that doc.  We are in the process of refreshing it, but will not be ready soon.   Which extension and which license level you need to run Arc Hydro tools depends on the tool(s) itself.  For all tools that deal with any raster processing, you will need Spatial Analyst.  Most of the vector-only tools will run with Basic license, but some tools will require Standard or Advanced license.  Arc Hydro tools are focused on data processing and analyses and my recommendation is that you have Spatial Analyst and Advanced license - that will enable you to leverage all the capabilities that Arc Hydro offers.

I have a user that is interested in ArcHydro. The thought was to provide a Standard license w/Spatial Analyst, but your post has made me pause. There's a pretty big price jump from Standard to Advanced. Can you provide specifics on what geoprocessing tool(s) that are available in Advanced and not Standard that would be used for ArcHydro?

I'd like to provide that information to this user in order to better manage expectations.

Unfortunately (still), we have not updated that doc, so i do not have a list of tools (300+) and their specific requirements on tool by tool basis.  My suggestion would be to have at least one Advanced license (you might want it for general Pro use anyways, not just Arc Hydro).

I'll move forward w/requesting a quote for a standard license and spatial analyst. As far as tools/functionality that may require Pro Advanced, we'll cross that bridge when we get to it.
