I would recommend some performance benchmarking first to find the right method for linking videos to your spatial data and understanding their impact on your workflows. Depending on the size of the files, database configuration, and workflows you may find that storing the videos within the geodatabase as attachments may cause a performance hit. That is not to say it's impossible to implement them, some customers have successfully implemented custom triggers in their deployments, but it requires a lot of testing to make sure ArcGIS workflows are not impacted negatively.  On a related note, Esri Technical Support will ask you to remove any custom triggers before beginning troubleshooting. I was still thinking about this problem and I found that 'tracert' may be a good starting point to see where the greatest lag is.
