This is the first time I've heard of the convert coord not tool. After an hour of online research, before I posted my ques, I'd not found any mention of the tool. I'd still be hung up without Dan and Neil's replies. After several tries here's the procedure that worked for me: I projected a blank arcmap to GCS North Amer 83 - I added in my point fc, NAD83 Stateplane Ok, feet - I set the tool up as follows: thank all of you who advised me

I need to calc degrees minutes seconds formats for latitude & longitude coordinates in a point feature class projected as NAD83 state plane Oklahoma, south, Feet. I received a very helpful answer from Neil Ayres, earlier this week, to my query on how to use the data frame GCS North American 1983 and calc geometry to calc the coordinates for a feature class projected as NAD83 State Plane Oklahoma, feet. Unfortunately, since the decimal degrees option is greyed out for the data frame that is the format the calc geometry tool calcs. How can I calc or change decimal degrees lats and longs to deg min sec format. I've tried, unsuccessfully, doing project to change the fc projection to another that would allow a change to the desired format. Ken

One of our co workers spent a couple hours making lecture choice edits to the agenda planner, only to have it crash and lose all of her edits. I suggest creating a excel spreadsheet table to enter your conference schedule.

Sol, My team has enough of these split by acreage tasks that I should try the parcel fabric method you fellows suggested. I've used it before. You're right: are the amount of steps to set up the fabric for each one of these polys a gain over just trial and error using your suggestions of the meas and edit sketch tool? I wonder if there a precise, discreet, way to add vertices on a line, like a distance, as we can with the cogo functionality. I'm going to look at that, as well as try the parcel fabric suggestion after work, today. I'll get back to you however it works out. It was important for me to get your opinion to verify there was not a really easier way to accomplish this. So, not having something directly in mind is helpful to my team. I'm certainly grateful for your prompt response. Ken

Sol, I've been trying a combination of the measure tool & create edit tool w/ vertices depicted. Measurre tool snaps to the poly vertices, but does not seem to offer more control on the size. I guess I don't understand how you would use that combination to create an exact 2-ac chunk, without a lot of trial and error. Ken

Sol, Thinking about your symmetrical response made me understand what you mean. besides doing a symmetrical split, could I set the approx part of the original poly to split, like specifying the north end where I want a 2 ac split out of the 6-ac poly I show in my screen capture?

sorry, I didn't add text to that screen capture reply. Yes, you're correct the polys are not symmetrical; the splits may need to happen for just an unequal part of the poly. The selected poly in the screen capture is 6.00 acres. I need to manually split it into 2- 3.0 acre polys.

Ian, thanks for the prompt response and interest in helping me. I want to split the selected 6.00 ac poly into 2, each of exactly 3.0 acres. I don't have many to do, so I don't need to automate. I'm using an advanced level license. I'm creating water rights maps for the Churchill County, Nv area.

Wow, pretty fast response. No, I don't have so many that I need to automate the process. I can do it manually.

After querying my friend, Preston Denney, Churchill county, nevada, gis analyst, I can answer this question. Use the cogo traverse wizard to create a straight segment before the curve segment - select tangent curve: for the first box Angle = 3-50-20 for the box to the right Radius= 9950' check right or left [the add button should be active, allowing you to proceed Thanks to Preston

This is how I interpret the 3 pieces of data: Can anyone interpret these 3 pieces of data and advise me how to digitize the curve segment "L"? Ken

I'd like to refine my question. Disregarding a RoS map basis of bearing, can anyone tell me how to, simply, rotate a cogo'd drawing, using my own bearing or, alternatively, rotating by holding two points, outside of Parcel Editor? Ken
