Hi All - We're working on scripting the export (via python) of parcel fabric layers so we can push them through our data publishing workflow. We're not having any trouble doing this, but now we'd like to export the "Lots and Units" layer to a Feature Class, but with the Parcel Id # included in the output Feature Class (it's not in this layer by default). Does anyone have experience python scripting custom exports of parcel fabric layers? Thanks! -Mike Knapp

The only drawback for feature templates is that we can't script their creation via python and don't want to be faced with creating 900+ feature templates manually.... especially if default values might change over time.

Thanks for your reply. I think we're leaning away from having 900 individual subtypes, and leaning into using a more broad "category" for subtype, then have domain lists of possible values from there..... just as you suggest above. We still have a ways to go, but I'll be sure to add what our final solution was when we get there.

Hi there - We're looking at a couple of options for the schema design of some city sign data. We have roughly 80,000 street signs in our dataset. In some ways, it would be nice to have a subtype for each sign type that we have (then we could set default values for each sign type, although the downside is that we have over 900 unique sign types... so we'd need that many subtypes. Adding these subtypes via Python takes a few hours, and the feature class responsiveness seems to decline as our number of subtypes increases. I looked, but wasn't able to find any specific guidelines for the maximum effective number of subtypes that can be used. Do any of you know of one? Or just have advice based on your own experiences. Thanks!

Hi there - I'm experimenting with creating MMPKs (via ArcGIS Pro 2.1) that can be used offline by some field personnel who will be out of mobile data range. We are looking for a non-organizational account solution for offline maps. I'm testing with the Android app version 10.2.10 build 1335. Using the Android app, I don't seem to be able to find the test mmpk I've created. I've made it publicly available at: http://bss.maps.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=38ee1e3d2bc0435bbeaf397f845b214d When I do a generic search for all MMPKs via Explorer, I do find some, just not mine. Am I missing something obvious (I suspect so). I've been using this as my guidance: https://community.esri.com/groups/explorer-for-arcgis/blog/2018/01/22/make-an-offline-map-with-arcgis-pro-21 Note: I am creating the mmpk without a basemap and the vector data source is a gdb. https://community.esri.com/groups/explorer-for-arcgis

I tried doing the update from 1.4 to 2.1 directly from ArcGIS Pro, and that didn't work. My installation of 2.0 was a clean install. I'm getting prompted for the 2.1 update, but am going to hold off until I can get some work done before giving that a try. Thanks for your responses tonight.

Thanks Dan..... I had no luck with resetting the application profile or doing a reinstall of 2.1. However, I was able to install version 2.0 (which I had never done before), and everything works fine. So, perhaps there was an error with my original installation of 2.1, and the remnants of it are hiding somewhere (not a very technical explanation, I know).

I'm hoping this is something simple. After updating ArcGIS Pro to 2.1, Geoprocessing Tools are not working. On opening a project, I get this message: The path, however, does exist. I've uninstalled and reinstalled a few times (including ArcGIS Desktop) to no avail. Basic command line Python in Pro is working, but no toolboxes show up: Any ideas? Thanks! m knapp

Just wanted to follow up that we looked at a few things to resolve this.... We did not have access to an ArcGIS Server installation for this. Option 1: In additional to the related table, we added a field to the hydrant layer for "most recent flushing". Field crew would update this as well, and this allowed up to render recently flushed hydrants with unique symbology. Option 2: Just bit the bullet and create a new layer of points... new point added for each new "flushing event". Option 1 was preferable because it was "spatially cleaner".
