I couldn't get the link to work for SetProduct within arcpy resources. However, if you google, SetProduct arcpy esri, you should be able to find the documentation. -Sam

Hi Ryan, I'm not positive about the join, but you can open a mxd with python using the arcpy.mapping module. It has access to the table of contents, so I would imagine the join would be active while open in python. ArcGIS Help 10.1 -Sam

Also, make sure you have a backup of the database or feature class. Once you move to ST_Geometry, you cannot use the migrate storage to migrate back to Binary. -Sam

Hi David, You shouldn't have to do that. You can use either the migrate storage tool, or change the configuration keyword with copy/paste of the feature class. ArcGIS Desktop -Sam

Hi David, Please go to the properties of the feature class in ArcCatalog, particularly the General tab. You will see a section called Geometry Properties. What does the Storage part say? The reason I ask is because views created with feature classes in Binary storage, will display strange behavior. We want to make sure the geometry storage for the feature class is either ST_Geometry or SDO_Geometry for Oracle when creating views in ArcCatalog or ArcMap. -Sam

Matthew, The SYNC_SEND versions would have to be called explicitly. I dont think you will be able to list them with the arcpy module. You could implement some SQL scripts (in python) to query the geodatabase tables and then return the SYNC_SEND version name. Then, pass that through the Delete Version syntax explicitly. Here is how to query for SYNC_SEND versions. 37551 - Determine if there are orphaned replica system versions in the geodatabase Call something like this through python: select * from sde.sde_versions where name like '%SYNC%' An ArcGIS Idea to implement a tool to Unregister replicas. https://esri.secure.force.com/ideaView?id=087E00000004esJ&returnUrl=%2Fapex%2FideaList%3Fc%3D09a300000004xET%26category%… I would recommend testing your script in a development environment. -Sam

Hello Matthew, In your nightly script, you could implement arcpy.DeleteVersion to remove the SYNC_SEND version before deleting the departmental version. I cant really describe a common workflow because the workflows are across the board. I see workflows from keeping versions anywhere from a few months to a year, or deleting them nightly. ArcGIS Help 10.1 It would really depend on what you want at the end of the day. If you want the versions completely removed from the database nightly, you will need to use Delete Version (to remove replica versions) before deleting the departmental version. FYI. Removing the SYNC_SEND version using Delete Version will break any existing replica. Make sure the data comes across, and you are okay with removing the replica. Hopefully that helps! Sam

Hello Matthew, You can run the Delete Version GP tool in ArcMap to remove the SYNC_SEND versions, provided all the data is posted correctly. You will have to manually enter the SYNC_SEND name, exactly as it is in the database. 33146 - What are the SYNC_SEND and SYNC_RECEIVE versions in the versions table? Stepping back a bit, is it necessary to remove these replica versions and unregister the replica each night? It wouldn't be necessary to do. As long as the edits from the replica reconcile and post to the parent version/replica, it is perfectly fine for the replica versions to exist. Sam

Hello Matthew, Please refrain from deleting rows from the geodatabase directly in SQL Server. This can cause inconsistencies quickly. Are the child versions discussed the SYNC_SEND versions in the screenshot? If so, those versions will be removed when the replica is unregistered from both parent and child geodatabases. Hopefully that helps! Sam

Hello William, Could you be more specific on the level of pyramids you have built? Typically when zooming in, if a raster disappears at certain scales, it is a sign something is going on with the pyramids. Could be other things as well, but best to start with the number of pyramid levels. Hopefully that helps! Sam
