Hi Peoples, Environment : ArcGIS Pro 2.1 If our data is in GDA2020 and we transform to Web Mercator, the software first does a datum transformation to GDA94, and then to Web Mercator. The Geographic Transformation is chosen for me, and I cannot alter it, nor can I delete it – as shown below. This is what is occurring: GDA_1994_To_GDA2020_1 A datum transformation to GDA94 GDA_1994_To_WGS_1984 NULL datum transformation to WGS84 Effectively– this is not the GDA2020 realization of web Mercator - It transformed to GDA94 first. It is the GDA94 realization of Web Mercator. Are other people aware of this? Implications? Cheers, Mark

The short answer is yes - plan for a full system upgrade to ArcGIS 10.6. This was posted on the GDA2020 forum: http://gda2020.invisionzone.com/topic/46-gda2020-the-arcgis-platform/?do=findComment&comment=110 Hello Bradley, ArcGIS 10.5.1 & ArcGIS Pro 2.0 provides partial GDA2020 support. For full GDA2020 support then you need to be at ArcGIS 10.6 or ArcGIS Pro 2.1. At this stage Esri has no plans to provide support in earlier versions. However, with a good business case to the Esri Australia support team earlier versions may be accommodated. Hi Peoples, ArcGIS Monitor looks to be one of the missing pieces of the puzzle in the Enterprise ArcGIS Server install. I look forward to testing it out. ArcGIS Monitor would appear to “help bridge the gap between IT and GIS”, get a more proactive response to the system management to prevent outages and allow for more detailed look at performance and reporting. I am disappointed it is not seen as part of the core Enterprise solution. I feel this should be considered as core to any Enterprise solution and should be included as part of the maintenance we pay under an Enterprise License Agreement, or indeed under standard maintenance for Enterprise. I view it is an enhancement to the core product, not a new product. What do other people think? Cheers, Mark

Hi Garrett, ArcGIS Enterprise Team says: Yes, ArcGIS Monitor can be added to an ELA! Please talk to your Esri Account Manager or Distributor to discuss. Could you please confirm if ArcGIS Monitor is part of the ELA or not. Regards, Mark

Annotation needs to be in AGOL. While AGOL does support labels, and there are work arounds to convert annotation to features, then label the features - this is a hack work around. ie While an AGOL web map can label, Collector does not support labels, and as AGOL does not support annotation - it becomes difficult to add labels maps and apps.

HI Peoples, I noted the ArcSDE Java SDK API stopped being supplied and supported in the 10.2 release. I note there is a file Geodatabase API. It states: The File Geodatabase API provides a non-ArcObjects based means by which advanced developers can work with File Geodatabases. – but this does not support enterprise ArcSDE. So – what is the option for an API that provides a non-ArcObjects based means by which advanced developers can work with ArcSDE Geodatabases? Cheers, Mark

Hi Peoples, esri support reproduced the problem. Looks like a bug introduced in 10.5. Cheers, Mark

Hi Peoples, My understanding is you need ArcSDE to edit data in SQL Server. Cheers, Mark

Hi Peoples, One of our Divisions is using SQL Server to store data in the native spatial format. Can this be edited directly with ArcMap? Do I need to install ArcSDE (create the Geodatabase) to enable editing with ArcMap. If the data is already in the database - do I have to register it with the Geodatabase? Anyone got the references to how to approach this? Anyone know if there are any gotchas in relation to data created via another app, then edited in ArcMap? I have a feeling the user created the data with MapInfo, and may plan to attempt to edit in both - which has the potential to go pair shaped if you ask me. Cheers, Mark

Hi Jonathan, We are using ArcGIS Server Authentication tier for security. If this is the case, and we make any service private by securing it to a role, then does this mean any WMS request to this service requires a token? Reference: Configuring ArcGIS Server's authentication tier Cheers, Mark

Hi Peoples, It looks to me that once the WMS Service has been secured, you have to obtain a token, and pass the token with the WMS request. Cheers, Mark

Hi Kelly, I did log with support. Usually support is good. In this case I got the run around - where they wanted an entire map package with all the data to be able to reproduce. Give the size of our datasets, and the time it would have taken me - I closed the support issue in frustration. It should be a simple matter to add a few raster datasets to an mxd, publish to server and attempt to add the layers to a web map. Cheers, Mark
