Hi Chris, Did you by chance change the service URL on the ArcGIS Online items? There is a known bug right now that will create a duplicate dataset in open data. If not that, are there any other actions you have taken that you can think of? If you provide a list of the incorrect datasets on your site we can delete them on our end. Thanks, Courtney

Hi Chris, Malcolm, We do take the updated date from the editor tracking attribute if editor tracking is turned on. For hosted services, we take the last edited date on the hosted features. For services that are not hosted and do not have editor tracking, we default to the ArcGIS Online item's last updated date. For services that have formal metadata attached and has a published date, we show both the last updated date and the published date. Let us know if you have any other questions! Courtney

Hi Starla, Where did you read that you shouldn't publish services with more than 5,000 features? ArcGIS Open Data will support services with more than 5,000 features. Publishing your contours dataset should be fine; creating a hosted feature service on ArcGIS Online will make it more stable and have quicker response times. If you go with an on premises service, I'd recommend changing the download cache to manual in the Data Manager tab of the administrative application (I am assuming your contours will not be a frequently updated dataset), so users get immediate downloads. Hi Tim, The "About" section is different from the "Description" section. The preview that you see in the search results comes from the Online description, which is what is also presented under "Description" on the dataset details page. The information under "About" gives info about the group it is in -- this information collapses if you click on the name of the group. Before, we had the information collapsed by default, so the user didn't see anything. Thank you for your feedback, it will guide a decision to consider moving back to collapsed by default. Courtney

Hey everybody, Batch editing for access and use constraints is now available with the free version of GeoJobe's Admin Tools. What you enter in the access and use constraints field on the ArcGIS Online items is what appears as the license on your open data site. Licenses are really important to have on your datasets - data isn't truly open unless it's licensed as reusable.
