Hi Adam, Looking at your site - things seem to be operating normally now. If you experience any other issues with empty downloads please let us know along with a link, and we can investigate. Regarding dataset caches - For non-hosted datasets: When a dataset download is requested for the first time, we generate a cache. We keep serving this cached download for 24 hours (unless the administrator clicks the reset button). After 24 hours, when a dataset download is requested, we generate a new cache. This 24-hour rule is not automatic-- if a user does not request a download for a few days the original cache will sit there until a new download is requested. For hosted datasets: We cache the datasets and the 24 hour rule does not apply, since we know when the dataset has been last updated. When a user first requests the download, we generate a cache. When the user requests a subsequent download, we check to see if the cache is out of date as per the last edited date on the hosted item, and either serve them the old cache or generate a new one. Hope this helps. Courtney

Hi C, #1 - There's not much to do in the way of structured metadata formatting, unfortunately. If you can, though, we highly recommend filling out the other parts of the metadata editor to give your users high quality datasets and the metadata page won't appear so empty. #2 - How do you want your datasets to appear in Open Data? We strip out group layers as they themselves don't contain any data. Are you registering a layer on AGOL, and then changing the source URL after? We have a logged bug about this behaviour - Open Data should update the dataset to reflect the new service URL, but it currently does not. We recommend registering individual layers to ArcGIS Online. This will give you control over which layers in your service will appear on your open data site. It is not possible to group individual layers into one dataset on Open Data.

Hi Adam, Dataset views in Open Data are not captured in ArcGIS Online. You can track your metrics including dataset views, downloads, search terms, etc through Google Analytics. There are instructions on how to do this here: Configure your Open Data site—ArcGIS Open Data | ArcGIS. Courtney

Hi Dat, Did you add your open data group to your site? You can do this on the 'Groups Manager' tab in the administrative app. Courtney

Hi Cameron, The error about individual layers is the human-translated version of the error you saw yesterday about group layers. It shouldn't be appearing on those datasets - we're working on getting that resolved and looking into the display_field warning as well. Thanks for the update! Courtney

Hi Aparna, We currently only harvest the published date from the ArcGIS format metadata. At this time, I would suggest to enable editor tracking on your services. This will add another attribute with the last edited date, which we will use as the last updated date on the dataset page. If you don't have editor tracking enabled, we use the last update date from the ArcGIS Online item (the last time the description was edited, etc). We will be harvesting more values from the official metadata in the future. Hope this helps, Courtney

Hi Tom, I reset your dataset on our end and it is downloading successfully for me. Is it working for you, now? Something got stuck in our processes of gathering the data from your server, and sometimes we need to reset the dataset to start the process over. You can do this through the admin app by hitting the 'reset' button next to the dataset in question. Thanks, Courtney

Thanks Dan, I'll take a look at the metadata. I'm sorry to hear about the other download issues -- If you encounter them when you add the other data back to your site please post the dataset link here with an explanation of what you're observing, like above, and we'll investigate.

Changing the default sort order isn't possible at this time -- it's something we would have to build in to offer custom search controls, and not something that can be manipulated with HTML, unfortunately. Out of curiosity, why do you prefer reverse alphabetical order for the search results? Courtney
