We are a large Water Utility Company with 38 Enterprise Geodatabases and most of them employ a versioning setup. As A workflow, I am considering the use of a Python Script to automate the Reconcile and posting process. Can someone share with me there experience using this kind of workflow and is there a down side.

Hi Joshua, Thank You for your help on this issue, but this project has evolved into something much bigger. We are a water utility Company with hundreds of miles of pipeline, valves and various equipment. For water quality purposes, I have been asked to provide a total inventory of everything and that includes pipeline sizes & lengths and the various types of valves and equipment. Unfortunately not all our GIS fields are numeric but are text. As a solution, I could merge similar feature classes into one big feature class but this could be labor intensive. Your thoughts Please. Larry

I have 38 line Feature Classes located on my Enterprise Server. Without merging the files into one Feature Class, is there a way to discover the grand total of all line lengths in all 38 Feature Classes.

The following script is giving me an error message. Any ideas how to make it work and what questions I should I ask myself in the future to remedy the error. import arcpy fc="C:/Projects/PythonTesting/GoingPlaces.dbf" with arcpy.da.SearchCursor(fc, ["STREETNAME"]) as Cursor: for row in cursor: print "STREETNAME = {0}".formate(row[0]) Runtime error Traceback (most recent call last): File "<string>", line 7, in <module> NameError: name 'cursor' is not defined

I have 38 Published Web applications and they all have very active Redline Edit Widgets. When a user of the Widget makes an edit, how can I be notified an edit has been made. Monitoring 38 redline features classes for edits is no fun. Any Ideas how to make this better. Thank You, Larry Adgate

For our Enterprise Server Geodatabases, the ListUser function works well when using only one Geodatabase, but when looping through two or more Geodatabases is where I need some assistance. My Script Error: ValueError: Not a valid SDE workspace. import arcpy #Local Variables: I need to loop through two or More Enterprise Server Geodatabases fc="Arden@gsw_sde.sde", "CowanHeights@gsw_sde.sde" arcpy.env.workspace = "Database Connections/fc" workspace = arcpy.env.workspace # get a list of connected users. userList = arcpy.ListUsers("Database Connections/fc") for user in users: print("Username: {0}, Connected at: {1}".format(user.Name, user.ConnectionTime))

This label expression below works along with a relationship class attachment linked to a line feature class. It only works great when the Domain setup for the Field "DIAMETER" does not include an inch the character. My domain for "DIAMETER" currently reads: 2,3,4&6 but it needs to be corrected to read 2",3"4" & 6". When applying the inch character(") to the domain the script errors. Can someone help me with this? Thanks, Larry Function FindLabel ( [DIAMETER] , [LINETYPE] ) FindLabel = "" if [DIAMETER] AND [LINETYPE] = "Fire Service" then FindLabel = [DIAMETER] & "" & "FS" end if if [DIAMETER] AND [LINETYPE] = "Domestic" then if FindLabel = "" then FindLabel = [DIAMETER] & "" & "DS" end if end if if [DIAMETER] AND [LINETYPE] = "Irrigation" then if FindLabel = "" then FindLabel = [DIAMETER] & "" & "IRR" end if end if if [DIAMETER] AND [LINETYPE] = "Air Valve" then if FindLabel = "" then FindLabel = [DIAMETER] & "" & "AV" end if end if if [DIAMETER] AND [LINETYPE] = "Sampling Station" then if FindLabel = "" then FindLabel = [DIAMETER] & "" & "SS" end if end if End Function
