Tried "" or '' but still no luck! Tested it on shapefile and FGDB feature class as well. As for the field calculator expression, it looks empty but actually it is not. It always does not show for no reason. The problem comes from the None or Null format in the date field because if I set any date instead, it does work. Also, it works in former ArcToolbox. Is it related to Python 3 ? There must be a solution...

Thanks Dan. It worked that way. It means ArcGIS Pro is not good at symbolizing coded values! It displays the proper name aside the color in the table of contents but seems to look for the coded value for actually applying the color...

Hi, In a model, after joining a shapefile to a text file, I am trying to calculate a newly created Date format field in the shapefile. But, whenever I have an empty date in the text file, the if else statment catches it and tries to fill a Null value in the Date field. But it crashes and not not work! I tried: return '' return 'None' return 'Null' return '0' But none worked! Any guess for the proper syntax? Thanks

Hi, With Unique Values renderer, I am just trying to mimics a Definition Query. I mean selecting only one country in COUNTRY_NAME and apply a color, and use another color for "all other values" Unfortunately, countries seems to be stored as coded values in FGDB and display as names in the attributes tables. As a result, ArcGIS Pro seems confused and do not apply any color as shown below. Oman should displays orange! I cannot figure out the problem...

Hi, I am trying to symbolize country polygons with the Unique Values renderer in ArcGIS Pro 2.1. Unfortunaletly, values listed are codes (there must be a coded domain in the FGDB) with corresponding labels. As a result, no symbology applies because it is actually country names stored in COUNTRY_NAME list, and not numeric codes! How can I choose proper country names in the Unique Values symbology and discard the numeric codes? Thanks

Hi, I finally tested thoroughly the new Annotation tools in ArcGIS Pro 2.1, leader lines in particular. It works but editing is rather slow and not slick. Moreover, from the Annotation pane, you cannot really add and remove leader lines. You have to go through Styles pane and create Text styles in order to add and/or remove leader lines in labels. Also, switching between Annotation tool (from the toolbar) to Move or Attributes and back to Select and so on... It is somehow cumbersome and it clearly shows a usability problem. To me, it looks like there is room for improvement...

The post from ArcGIS Pro 1.4 is interesting as the "Round edges" global effect is not available in Pro 2.0 ! Will plan to upgrade to Pro 2.1 and test this "Round edges" global effect... along with other things.

Hi, In the layout view, I am trying to mimic a "rounded box" effect for a Map Frame, as shown below: For the time being, I tried using a buffer (set to 10 pts) but the content of the Map Frame cannot fill the rounded part! I used the buffer for regular rectangle and it worked perfect, as shown here: c Is there any setting I may use in order to mimic the "rounded box" effect for a Map Frame? Perhaps other than the buffer... Thanks

Hi, In ArcGIS Pro 2.0, I am trying to convert automatic labels to annotation, but only for selected features, as shown below: However I cannot find an option 'for selected features' ! It is possible? Just like in ArcMap previously... If I go ahead, it converts all labels to annotations. Thanks

Hi, It looks like you need a Python code block with "if" conditional statments to decode the first 3 letters of your ATTRIBUTE field, as shown here: All details available here: Specify text for labels—ArcGIS Pro | ArcGIS Desktop With the <FNT></FNT> pseudo HTML tages, you can apply some formatting to the labels such as color, size, police... but it will be limited. To me, it won't be possible to apply Halo, Callout and any advanced formatting... Label classes as you did was the right way. Hope this help

Thanks Dan. You're correct, I should check if the field is Numeric or Text in order to assign either 0 or ''. This would make the code more robust. Will investigate this soon... Otherwise, Calculate Field with special character such as ~ did finally work with the code shown below (don't know waht happened yesterday!)
