Waqar Using your results from the attribute query get the geometry from the result ESRI.ArcGIS.Client.Geometry.Geometry geo = e.FeatureSet.Features[0].Geometry from the QueryTask_ExecuteCompleted use this geometry to add to the identify parameters in the identify task http://resources.arcgis.com/en/help/silverlight-api/samples/start.htm#Identify place the identify query inside the QueryTask_ExecuteCompleted method. IdentifyParameters idResParams = new IdentifyParameters() { Geometry = geo, MapExtent = Map.Extent, Width = (int)Map.ActualWidth, Height = (int)Map.ActualHeight, LayerOption = LayerOption.all, SpatialReference = Map.SpatialReference }; You might want to change the LayerOption to get the results that you need.

Johan, Yes, I disabled the client caching. I have found that it only seems to do this from my computer and not the clients, both in debugging and production versions. Chris

I am working with the 10.1 print task and I get some odd results. The problem is that when I send maps to the server, the returned output would be a map that I had previously sent. It is as if it cycles through all the previous maps -- I had to keep clicking the export map button until I got to the correct output. I checked the json with fiddler, and it is for the current display on the screen. But when the pdf shows up, it is a previous map. Is there a way to clear out the old json before starting the new map? Does anybody have any ideas? I am using Silverlight 4, api 3.0, ArcGIS 10.1 and VS 2010 Thanks, Chris

Jason, I have not used vs2012, but in vs2010, using the solution explorer, right click on the web project and set it to the startup project, then right click on the html page and set it to the start page. Check the resources and make sure that they are the correct versions, and build and run it.' I hope that works. Chris

Hi, Is there a reason that you can't render the data in the service via ArcMap instead of on the client? I have done that sucessfully with a joined table. It seems much simpler. Chris

Hey, I think that you want to set the "LayerOption = LayerOption.visible" in the "IdentifyParameters()" in the code behind. See the sample: http://resources.arcgis.com/en/help/silverlight-api/samples/start.htm#Identify Chris

We fixed this issue by rolling back to the previous image that we took on the server. It seems like something got corrupted. My suggestion is to take images of the server often. Chris

Greg, I find it odd that so many of us could be publishing services, then mysteriously the permissions change so that you cannot publish anymore. I think that there is more to it than that. Chris

This seems like you have a proxy problem. Take a look at this help page. http://resources.arcgis.com/en/help/main/10.1/index.html#//015400000309000000 There are a few other threads in this forum about proxy issues. Chris

Hey, I would like to add a wait indicator to a panel -- the same kind that is in the legend sample. I have the xaml code, but cannot figure out how to call it, or start and stop it. Thanks, Chris

Thanks, I want to have the user set up the layers by checking all the layers in the legend that they want to view, then hit a button that saves the configuration. So far I have been able to save the visible layers, but that does not include the layers that are checked but not visible due to scale dependencies. Do you know of a way to find the checked layers in the legend? This is what I am using to find the visible
foreach (LayerItemViewModel livm in _legend.LayerItems)
{
if (livm.Layer.ID == "VantageLayers")
{
var subLayerItem = livm.LayerItems.FirstOrDefault();
for (int i = 0; i < subLayerItem.LayerItems.Count; i++)
{
if (subLayerItem.LayerItems.IsVisible)
{
sb.Append(subLayerItem.LayerItems.SubLayerID + Environment.NewLine);
sb.Append(subLayerItem.LayerItems.Label + Environment.NewLine);
}
}
}
Thanks, Chris

Hey, Does anybody have any ideas on how to set up a system where the users can select which data sets that they want turned on as a default? This is for an internal system, where the user name is available. I am using Dominique's reorganize legend sample, and I would like it to turn on the layers according to each user when they log in. Thanks, Chris

Sanjay, You will have to create a new mxd for each layout, but only the layout portion. The tool will take care of the data. Here is a link on how to publish a new tool where you can add your layouts: http://resources.arcgis.com/en/help/main/10.1/index.html#//00570000009s000000 Chris

I got help from esri and they determined it was my proxy settings that were not allowing the print tool to connect outside the firewall. I used this help, which fixed the problem. http://resources.arcgis.com/en/help/main/10.1/index.html#//015400000309000000
