The right-click step not mentioned was implied by the document link I provided in my initial post. Yes, you have to save an image file as it is part of this extract process so your map and or image layer will print/export during the output. Where you place this file and keeping the image files are completely up to you. You could delete any exported image and extract them again the next time you would like the output saved again.

I think the communication is being missed because the word "export" sounds like it is being used for the word "extract". Let me try one more time with images. If you need to print one or more of your map/image layers, you can use the extract command from the context menu by right-clicking on the map layer in the Esri Contents dialog and selecting "extract". I have the following drawing with one Web Feature Layer (WFL) and two Map/Image Layers. The map/image Layers are not going to display in the Layout view at all and to work around this the function "Extract" can be used. The PDF only contains the WFL. The output PDF: But if I use the extract function on the Map/Image Layers first then switch to Layout view to plot or export to PDF we obtain all the layers we expect. I hope this helps.

Hello @whitecosmos, All Web Feature Layers will print no matter where they are sourced (ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise) from. However, ArcGIS for AutoCAD output does not display the Map Service data in layout view because printing is not supported. If you need to print one of your map/image layers, you can use the extract command from the context menu by right-clicking on the map layer in the Esri Contents dialog and selecting "extract". There is a resource document for this workflow. ArcGIS for AutoCAD > Manage > Primary user interface > Esri Contents user interface **Search for, “extract”, (then look under “Map and imagery layers..”) which has been and still is the command from AFA to save the image layer as a local file before printing.

Hello, Thanks for trying ArcGIS for AutoCAD! I think providing screen captures would always help with these questions but what I think you are describing is the Esri Contents and the different layer types. ArcGIS for AutoCAD separates Web Feature Layers, Map/Image Layers and Document Feature Layers. As you have discovered the Project Area will only affect the Web Feature Layers while Map/Image Layers are added as the entire layer and Document Feature layers are entities that are in the local drawing. I hope this helps!

Hello @francogalli, I am really unsure how to respond since as far as I know I provided the previous user the answer they needed which should be the same answer you require given you claim to have the same issue. I do not know what your data entails from an ArcGIS Pro perspective, but in general it should be the same since ArcGIS Pro can read the drawing file natively. If you used other CAD tools from the ArcGIS Pro side then the attribute tables will match the drawing from export. ArcGIS for AutoCAD will work in all Autodesk AutoCAD verticals (AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Map 3D, etc.). I hope this helps. If not please provide additional details to the issue.

Hello, Based on your provided screen capture it would appear my form example was just cut and pasted into the URL text box. That example URL is not going to work for you. The URL just provides the format needed for your particular ArcGIS Enterprise URL. You might need to talk with your IT and or GIS Manager to find out the correct URL to enter in ArcGIS for AutoCAD. Kind regards, Dan

A shortcut is installed out of the box for Civil 3D 2022 and earlier. AutoCAD as Civil 3D is an issue because it treats Plain AutoCAD as Civil 3D and creates Coordinate Geometry (COGO) points but cannot. BUG-000163959 Running Civil 3D as AutoCAD crashes when a point layer is added. Run AutoCAD (Plain) and or Civil 3D. Do not use the shortcut "Civil 3D as AutoCAD" with ArcGIS for AutoCAD 420 and above.

Hello Caitlin, Thanks for assisting your Engineer with setting up ArcGIS for AutoCAD! I would really like to know the format of the URL you entered in the Manage Portals box of ArcGIS for AutoCAD (AFA). You mention nothing happens when they try to sign-in which from other posts here it sounds like the URL includes the port number. AFA provides examples of the required format of the URL. You can use a private message if you prefer. I wonder if instead the current format is something more like https://machinename.domain.com:7443/arcgis. As for requirements of ArcGIS Enterprise for AFA, there are non other than the deployment is functioning correctly.
