Try to create the sde connection as direct connection type (you can do this by specifying instance=sde:oracle11g:<your_database instance>). see if problems still persists.

Getting following error while accessing the RaterDataset from ArcSDE 10/10.1 using ArcGIS engine 10.2.2. But When do the same thing using ArcGIS Engine 10 it works fine. NOTE:: The raster data exists in ArcSDE, I am able to access this using ArcMap and able to render it properly too using ArcGIS Engine 10 as well as ArcMap 10/10.1 both. Following is the code snippet:: IEnumDatasetName datasetNames = workspace.getDatasetNames(esriDatasetType.esriDTRasterDataset); IDatasetName datasetName = datasetNames.next(); IRasterWorkspaceEx pRWS = new IRasterWorkspaceExProxy(workspace); while (datasetName != null) { try { // Here at below line getting the exception...... IRasterDataset pRasterDataset = pRWS.openRasterDataset(datasetName.getName()); IRasterLayer pRasterLyr = new RasterLayer(); pRasterLyr.createFromDataset(pRasterDataset); int bandCount = pRasterLyr.getBandCount(); }catch(Exception ex){ ex.printStackTrace(); } } AutomationException: 0x8000000a - The data necessary to complete this operation is not yet available. Hi Mark, Thanks for kind attention. But that won't solve my problem. Let me explain you my situation in little more details. I have created a GIS Viewer using ArcGIS Runtime SDK Java. Now in this I am adding layers in the map using DynamicWorkspace capability of this SDK. and adding data from .shp, Geodatabase sources etc. Now I am providing an user interface to user where s/he can define the symbology(e.g. Simple, classbreak, Unique etc.) to render above layers (e.g. .shp or geodatabase) in map. Now I want to store above defined symbology in compitible file (e.g. .lyr or .avl or anyother), so that user can share these with others fellow and can re-use in ArcMap also, so that s/he need not to define each and every property of the symbology again and again. and vice-versa. I hope now, I am able to make myself more clear. and hope now, you would be able to guide me more precisely on this note.

Hi GeoGeeks, I would like to store the symbology in '.lyr' OR '.avl' files, using ArcGIS runtime SDK Java. Basically I want to interchange the symbology between my custom application and ArcGIS Desktop(e.g. ArcMap 10.x). and I want to create and read that symbology using my custom application. IS it possible? if yes, then please suggest the way to do so. if not, then, is there any other 3rd party API's which can make it possible?

I want to get the connection Details from sdeConnection file. <someName>.sde file e.g. serverName, service, user, password etc. for this I am writing following script. import arcpy desc = arcpy.Describe("C:\TEMP\sdeCon\connection.sde") conPop = desc.connectionProperties() @ above line it get error-- "RuntimeError: DescribeData: Method connectionProperties does not exist" can some one please help, why so is happening, and how can I get the connection details from SdeFile. NOTE:: Even I am getting the same issue in both ArcGIS 10 and 10.1 and I have set the path as C:\Python26\ArcGIS10.0 for ArcGIS 10 and C:\Python26\ArcGIS10.1 for ArcGIS 10.1

In a following way i am trying tot get the version list from My Oracle SDE (Multiple SDE schema). IPropertySet propertySet = new PropertySet(); propertySet.setProperty("SERVER", "<IP of my SDE Server>"); propertySet.setProperty("INSTANCE", "5151:schema1" ); propertySet.setProperty("DATABASE", "Application Server" ); propertySet.setProperty("USER", "schema1"); propertySet.setProperty("PASSWORD", "schema1" ); propertySet.setProperty("AUTHENTICATION_MODE", "DBMS"); IWorkspaceFactory workspaceFactory = new SdeWorkspaceFactory(); IWorkspace workspace = workspaceFactory.open(propertySet, 0); VersionedWorkspace versionedWorkspace = new VersionedWorkspace(workspace); IEnumVersionInfo enumVersionInfo = versionedWorkspace.getVersions(); enumVersionInfo.reset(); IVersionInfo versionInfo = enumVersionInfo.next(); while (versionInfo != null) { String versionName = versionInfo.getVersionName(); System.out.println("====="+versionName); versionInfo = enumVersionInfo.next(); } Now My Scenario is this::. I have installed every thing in one machine. I have a oracle11g and on top of this I have installed ArcSDE10.1 (Multiple geodatabases in one Oracle database ). I have default GeoDB = sde, and then i created two more GeoDB Schema, Named schema1 and schema2. Now i am trying to get the list of versions from these schemas using ArcGIS Engine 10.1 ArcObject JAVA API. but the list of Versions are not coming as per it should come. for example:: First time if I give the credential as below. my INSTANCE = 5151:schema1 & USER = schema2 Ideally it should display, versions as schema1.DEFAULT, which is absolutely correct. Second Time:: my INSTANCE = 5151:sde & USER = sde Ideally it should display, versions as sde.DEFAULT, which is absolutely correct. Third Time:: my INSTANCE = 5151:Schema2 & USER = schema1 Ideally it should display, versions as schema2.DEFAULT, But it is displaying as, schema1.DEFAULT, which is not correct. It mean The Engine API is retaining the connection details, internally. How can I overcome this, inconsistent behaviour. If any one has anything, plz do let me know.

Hi Elise Acheson, This way I am able to get the CRS. But Lets say if i have to add multiple MPKs in my Project, then the response of ArcGISRuntime server is not good. so tp overcome this problem. I am thinking to create a single gpk service and this same service will be used for getting the CRS of any mpk, the only thing is, you have to give the path of that mpk. if i remove following code from python: mpk = arcpy.mapping.MapDocument("c:\myMpks\world.mpk") dataFrames = arcpy.mapping.ListDataFrames(mpk) myCRS = frame.spatialReference.name then the gpk service works perfect (It doesnot get crashed.)

Question: How did you create your .gpk? I assume you shared your GP result from Desktop. If so, on the Geoprocessing Package dialog, did you make sure that the Support ArcGIS Runtime option was checked? Hi Eric Bader, Yes, Support ArcGIS Runtime option was checked.
