Thanks for your post! I’m .net Guy with 8 years experience but will not hesitate to learn other technologies that fits best for BIg Data concept. However knowing the fact assembly language of Big Data is Java. It will be appreciated if you can help me how I can start working on Hadoop. As I found different platforms Hdinsight (hortonworks) based on windows , Cloudera etc. Can you help me in choosing the platform. Please provide answer in both cases if I have spatial data and also if I have to work on non-spatial data. We are using ESRI products ( Arcgis server, ArcMAp, ArcSDe, MS SQL server) for our enterprise solution

We are intending to build enterprise Arcgis application based (Widget based+Arcgis Java script+Arcgis server 10.2+ MS SQL server). It will contain tools for reporting , editing data, analysis, decision making, data validation. Application will contain users with certain roles (abitlity to use tools and data based on role and permission) We have both spatial and non-spatial functionalities. Let me give brief about reporting only In Reporting: 1. Pre-designed and pre-styled reports. 2. The other functional requirement is an ability for end users (not programmers, just normal admin users) to create custom reports to design and style reports for other general users of application like Componentone and Crystal Report in .net provides Question: I wonder should I use only Javascript or should take leverage from asp.net also. Question: Should I use WAB? The high end design of the appplication is in attached image.

"HA" means High Availability. At the 10.2 version of ArcGIS for Server, the Site load balances itself. There isn't really a need for a separate load balancer anymore, although there may be one or two specific use cases that are not common in most environments. You should know that ArcGIS for Server's licensing model is by the CPU core; so for every machine that runs a SOC instance you would require licensing on all of its cores. I suppose this would be a function of how many servers you add to your ArcGIS for Server Site. Currently we are using ArcGIS 10 and we have High availability ArcGIS server architecture in production with windows network load balancing software but we found this is not working fine in scenario 1. We have IIS and SOM working on both machines say web1 and web2. Sometimes for some users there web request lands on web2 and it responds with error although IIS is working fine but our Network load balancer doesn't recognize this behavior. And for other user request is landing on web1 that is responding as per expectations. With the result we found our application was working for some user and for some not. We usually restart ArcGIS Services (SOM and SOC) on other machine (web2) Question 1: We are going to Migrate to ArcGIS 10.2 can I anticipate this problem again? Question 1: DO we have any other Network load balancer which can take care of this kind of situations

I am in the process of setting up an environment where there will be two web adaptors behind a load balancer to serve a high-availability site. The configuration looks something like this: Essentially, two physically separate ArcGIS Server sites are mirrored and attached with a NLB on the front end. Each site serves the same secured services and are configured to use the same shared key for token generation. In this scenario, ideally when the client logs in (authenticating against the built-in store) a token will be generated which will be recognized by both server sites. Is this possible? If so, what needs to be done for this to happen? I know we can adjust the affinity settings on the NLB to prevent requests from the same client from being distributed across the two sites, but the goal is complete failover. Thanks. We are having same environment did you got a solution to this issue and please can you look to this thread also http://forums.arcgis.com/threads/100232-Network-Load-balancer-in-ArcGIS-Server-10.2?highlight=Network+load+balancer

Thanks for your reply. Since we have now 10.2 is the same applicable to current version of Arcgis server. What do you mean by HA and where is network load balancer? Do we require still only two licences of arcgis server and same time we are using power of four machines? Do you recommend any new architecture?
