I am curious about how exactly the cache and updates are done. If I am referencing un-versioned feature classes that are updated regularly (anywhere from a few times a minute to a few times an hour) If I have clear cache every 5 minutes and the map is sitting open in a project idle for 5 minutes without a pan or zoom or anything, user is checking facebook or something, will the display update every 5 minutes with the updates? Is it truly like hitting F5 in ArcMap? What about open attribute tables will they update with new rows also?

If you make it global to the machine, you will likely need admin rights to the machine to change them. Fewer and fewer organizations let users have admin rights. This is a problem with ArcGIS classic desktop, regular users can't switch license level based on what they need unless they override with a user level environment variable.

So I have made a basemap map and save it out as a mapx in my project folder. It shows up in my Basemap dropdown in the Map tab of the ribbon. I can close this basemap and it stays in the basemap dropdown. I want other projects to be able to use it without importing the mapx. I also want to share with other users in my organization. I don't want to publish it with server (even internally for various reasons such as maintenance, source is external, accessibility, language, toponymic standards.) Basically I want to take some arcgis online services, strip out the labelling, change the projection and use the new basemap as a background for data editing purposes with ArcGIS Pro. I can make a layer file (lyr or lyrx) but seems like an ArcMap way of doing it and also doesn't show up in the basemap dropdown, I then also have to share by putting the file in a network directory.

Is it possible to set minimum and maximum scales for label classes for a layer. Seems like a basic thing, I can't seem to find it... (Not a reference scale) I tried using the maplex label engine but didn't find the setting

I am looking for equivalent functionality to the georeferencing toolbar in arcmap. The Register Rasterer has a field for links file. The warp tool has Source control Point and Target control points but nothing I can click on the map to get those values.

Don't apologize or hesitate to ask. We are all pretty new at ArcGIS Pro SDK (I have 15 years AO but 5 days of Pro SDK.) Any question you have, I sure others do to. The collection is read only I suppose for a specific purpose. Perhaps if you posted the end goal of what you want, there may be a completely different way to do what you want with Pro.

Thanks Thomas that is great. I am new to ArcGIS Pro so I am still getting my feet wet. I am surprise it is the VisualVariableInfoZ since I am dealing with a 2D map... I guess it is around the Z axis which protrudes from the map...

I am trying to make a custom point construction tool with a line geometry. I want to take the angle of the line and pass it to the field for which the rotation is set, if rotation is set. In pro interface, I go to my point layer I open the symbology tab (unique value renderer) I go to review connected attributes Rotation is set to a field I a custom construction tool, from the currentTemplate property I can get the layer. I have been navigating up and down the API reference but I haven't figured out how to get to the connected attribute for rotation. Any hint would help

"repairing the .NET Framework helped resolve the issue for me." Can you expand on what you did exactly or provide a reference. I am having this problem a lot. I find that hitting debug repeatedly will sometimes work after two or three times. If after the 5th time, it didn't, I clean the solution, shutdown VS2013, restart VS2013 rebuild and try again. Occasionally none of that works and I have to delete the suo file and try again. At times all that and a reboot it is the only thing that will work...
