I have a button that is hidden on a form. The form is for sign supports. If there is more than related sign, my button should display, but it is not. Here is an excerpt of the code- HTML: <button id="btnRelatedSigns" type="button" style="visibility:hidden">Signs</button> JavaScript: // display number of related records in console
queryTask.executeForCount(query, function (count) {
console.log(count);
if (count >= 1) {
document.getElementById("btnRelatedSigns").style.visiblity = "visible";
} else {
document.getElementById("btnRelatedSigns").style.visiblity = "hidden";
}
}) The code counts the related signs just fine, but does not display the button as visible. Here is my project on github with the version related to this question: csergent45/streetSigns at e8bd20b75864c14e4df56589e4f9baa03db5c053 · GitHub

I'm not sure if there is a book signing, but Jack is very approachable and excited for those that are enthusiastic about GIS so I believe he would be very glad to sign your book.

That helped a lot. I never got that. Sounds like visibility would be good for floating objects.

Excellent. It worked well. How come display works and visibility does not?

I am building apps for the field and I need my forms to grow and shrink based on user selections. In this example: JS Bin - Collaborative JavaScript Debugging a user clicks on a button to add a tenant address to owned property. I want the buttons on the form to move down with each button click after the next address. How would I do that?

I know it won't speed it up, but have you considered displaying a different cursor while it waits or an icon to the right of the search that might display while populating. That won't solve speed issue but your user will know that the app is still working.

It does. I was thinking maybe I needed to evaluate the first object for signs or the one displayed. That way it would not repeat by checking ObjectId. Is that what you meant?

My concern is that the first item in the form is not populated by the array, It's populated by the click event. I could populate it by the array instead and run the query on the feature click event, I think.

That's correct. The item that I am getting in the console.log will be used to update. I just wanted to skip it if it displayed both in the console.log and and the form which is the value of the supportId.

Basically you use ArcObjects to extend ArcGIS Desktop and you use ArcGIS Runtime SDK if you want to create your own desktop mapping application. So, what you have installed is the SDK for extending ArcGIS Desktop. Since you were using VBA, that should be exactly what you need as VBA requires a host. For help with Add-ins, you can check this out: ArcObjects Help for .NET developers If you would like to create a custom desktop application outside of ArcGIS, you may want to start here: ArcGIS Runtime SDK for .Net | ArcGIS for Developers
