Sorry for the confusion. I was asking if you could make a new instant app using the Media app. When you create it see if the search experience hangs and if it does not please publish the app, share it to the public and then share the link.

@GISManager4 Strange. I just tested with a few pre-configured zone lookup apps and cannot repro. I am able to configure the search. If you look at the developer console when you configure the app are there any error messages? It looks like there aren't any search sources configured. If you go into the configuration for that app and search for "Search" and configure at least one search source it should work again.

In the layers to show in results section try selecting only the layers you want to show up and uncheck the parcel layer.

We are working to standardize capabilities like the splash screen across all apps but as you’ve noted it’s not currently available in Basic. The Media app has the same simple look and feel as Basic and includes an Introduction panel that can be configured to open when the app loads so that might be a good alternative for you.

The reason private mode works is that we write a value into the browser's storage once the app opens with the splash content showing so users only see it automatically the first time the app loads. We are working on an approach where it will always show (unless users disable) that we hope to have in the apps early this year.

Cluster results are not available in the Sidebar app when the popup content is displayed in the side panel. We hope to add support for this in an upcoming release.

The Nearby app current location functionality uses something called the Geolocation API to determine your current location. This api is most accurate on devices with GPS. On desktop w/o gps the location is determined using various methods like IP address, WIFI etc. If you are connected to VPN it can also affect the location returned.
