Okay does Programmi contain any special characters which are non utm8. I'm thinking about accents like in French or similar. Do you know what I mean? Thanks Mark

Carlos has a good point about the environment variable. I uninstall and reinstall the product lots of times (testing the latest build) and sometimes the env var isn't set. Its quite rare, but logging out and back in again and its fine. If this doesn't help try testing with eclipse and you should see better errors. Mark

Hi This isn't what it's supposed to do! Can you give me some more information about your installation: - OS version - Machine spec. - Location of your installation files If you are using Windows, do you have DirectX 9 or 11 support? If you are using Linux, have you got OpenGL support? Have you tried creating a simple application using the Eclipse plugin? Using Eclipse, create a New Project - >ArcGIS Runtime Map Application. When you run the application what happens. You may get more information on the problem via eclipse. Mark

Yes this had been added for 10.2. You can now write code like this: mgl = new MessageGroupLayer(DictionaryType.Mil2525C); mgl.setMaxScale(maxScale); mgl.setMinScale(minScale); And also relating to your json file, we've also added API to alter the scale factor. This is an overloaded constructor as altering the scale factor at runtime isn't sensible (very processor intensive). Mark

You are correct about the service layer, the min and max scale is defined by the service and at the moment you can't override the values. GraphicLayer however should work. I've just tried it using the following code: //add graphics layer with graphics gLayer = new GraphicsLayer(); gLayer.setMinScale(1.4791436103807428E8); gLayer.setMaxScale(1.8489307722593345E7); map.getLayers().add(gLayer); //graphic Point pt = new Point(0,0); SimpleMarkerSymbol sms = new SimpleMarkerSymbol(Color.red, 10, Style.CIRCLE); Graphic gr = new Graphic(pt, sms); gLayer.addGraphic(gr); When I zoom in and out I can see the red marker symbol in the graphics layer appear and disappear. Does this help? Mark

Hi John, At the moment there isn't a way to do this out of the box. If you are working with a small number of graphics, you might get away with listening in to a map zoom in/out and change the sybols of each of your graphics. However this isn't going to scale very well once you get more graphics, so understand the limitations with this (nasty) idea. We've had a chat about this and I don't think it would be a hard feature to add, so I'll make sure we consider this for a future release. I always like to get feedback on useful additions we can add to the API. Thanks Mark

3D is coming but not in the 10.2 release. I'm thinking it will be in the following release. I've seen it in action already and it's looking really good. Watch this space... Mark

You are not a poor searcher, as there isn't a method for setting a reference scale (assuming you are talking about the reference scale option that exists in ArcMap). Tell us a little more about what you are trying to achieve. Mark

The methods will be available for the ArcGISDynamicMapServiceLayer/ ArcGISLocalDynamicMapServiceLayer class. As for the release date, I'm afraid I can't tell you just yet, but let's say we're towards the end of our development and planning product certification... watch this space 🙂

Hi Carlos, There is no setting on the JMap for this. Opacity is set on layers only, so you are right there isn't a global setting for all layers. However for 10.2 we're adding Brightness, Contract and Gamma methods to the Tiled Layers, so would this help? Mark
