We’re pleased to announce the release of a beta version of the ArcGIS Maps SDK for Java with support for Arm64 Linux platforms. We have had several customer requests to support the Arm64 Linux architecture, so we’re releasing this version for developers to try out and give us some feedback.
Supporting Arm64 Linux platforms (such as Jetson Orin or Raspberry Pi) opens additional exciting and creative uses for the Java Maps SDK such as:
- Arm Linux desktop machines with mapping applications.
- Embedded hardware displaying mapping applications.
- IoT data collection applications.

If you would like access to this beta release, send us an email to ARM64LinuxNative@esri.com. We are particularly interested in hearing how you intend on using this release, the applications you are writing, and what devices you are running with it.
To support new users of Arm64 platforms, we will be releasing a series of blog posts featuring projects running on Arm64 architecture, including the use of embedded hardware and IoT devices.
Our first blog post demonstrates the use of a Raspberry Pi as a GPS location logger and we’ve got others coming along showing how you can integrate IoT data collection apps (such as a weather station) into the ArcGIS Platform.
