Hi Bonnie - unfortunately that is not supported in the Map Series builder at the moment, but you could do that by downloading the code and customizing it to add that behavior. If you can instead use a Map Journal for your story, it does have this ability. You can highlight some text and set up a "Story Action" to create a link to another section. Owen

Hi Vojtěch, It looks like your code didn't get formatted well, so I'm not exactly sure. Some parts appear to be commented out (the "//" denotes comments), so they will be ignored. Maybe that is the issue? Any changes you make to the code on the server to config.js should be applied the next time you load the app. Be sure to clear your browser cache or do a forced refresh to make sure you are loading the app from the server and not your local cache. To force a refresh on Windows Chrome use SHIFT+F5, for example. In the next ArcGIS Online release (late Feb 2017) you'll be able to change theme colors in Map Series (and Map Journal) more easily whether you are hosting your own copy of the app or not. Watch for a blog post about it on our developer blog after the release. Owen

Hi Kayla, We have recommended image sizes listed in our FAQ as questions for each story map app like: What are the recommended image sizes for a Map Journal? The main thing to keep in mind is that resizing can help, but compressing your images usually gives you the most performance gain. Also note that these recommendations only apply when you are hosting images on your own web server. If you use photos from Flickr or upload images directly in the story map builder those images are optimized for you, so you don't need to do anything to them, regardless of their original sizes. Owen

Ana -- Stephen's point sounds like the most likely cause of your issue, but the best way to troubleshoot and fix issues with your story maps is to use the My Stories section of the story maps website. This tool will find and flag issues with sharing or missing content in your stories and also lets you authorize subscription and premium content as well. You can read more about My Stories in these blog posts.

Hi Herdis, Thank you for the additional information you've provided to further help me understand your situation. I did a search for your idea on ideas.arcgis.com but did not find it, so I'd encourage you to submit your enhancement request there so others may vote for it. We use the information from that site to help prioritize enhancement requests as we do our planning for future releases. Owen

Hi Herdis, We have considered adding that capability, but it does add some complexity to the builder code and experience. It's good to practice to design simple web maps for story maps, so adding several multi-layer map services is not always the best idea. The technique of adding individual map service layers to a web map is helpful here. For example, if you wanted to use two of the four layers in this map service: http://sampleserver6.arcgisonline.com/arcgis/rest/services/Census/MapServer you can add only those layers directly to the web map using the layer URLs like this: http://sampleserver6.arcgisonline.com/arcgis/rest/services/Census/MapServer/0 http://sampleserver6.arcgisonline.com/arcgis/rest/services/Census/MapServer/1 etc... You can then manage them as individual layers in the web map and story map builder, which makes configuration much easier. Does that help? Owen

Hi Duncan, Sorry you are having an issue building your Cascade story. Could you share a screenshot of the Issues tab in the map configuration panel of the map that is showing the error? Owen

Hi Suzanne, You can inspect and manage all your stories on the My Stories section of the Story Maps Website. Just click on a story to expand it and click on any web map to see its layers. More information about My Stories can be found in these blog posts. Owen

Wijmke -- you could try revealing the layers in your map in subsequent views rather than have them all visible in the first view. Check out this tutorial to see how to use this technique. Owen

Wijmke, I'm glad you are enjoying the Story Map Cascade app, and thanks for taking the time to provide feedback. We'll take a look at providing a better loading indicator for map layers in a future release. Until then you can try to reduce the time it takes your map layers to load by generalizing them (if they are complex polygons or lines) or creating tiles. You can learn more about these techniques in the ArcGIS Online help. Owen

Hi NS GIS, Just following up on this one... While I still see the offset narrative panel in your original story I can't repro that behavior in new stories that I create. Could you please let me know if you see this in new stories? Owen

Hi Andrea, Thanks for taking the time to submit feedback about Cascade. I am able to reproduce this issue. Pasting text into the title field in an immersive section does not work. We'll look to fix that in an upcoming release. Changing text color in titles is not currently supported, but I've taken note of your request for this feature. Video Different autoplay behavior: The behavior you describe for videos in immersive sections (autoplay) and narrative sections (no autoplay) is as expected. We plan to add an autoplay setting for videos in narrative sections in a future release. There are some known issues with videos on mobile that we are looking into. I cannot reproduce the issues you described with large text in edit mode. Could you please let me know what you mean by "map links?" Also I'm not sure I understand the second situation you described here. Could you provide more description and/or a screenshot of your multiple map configuration and what is not working as expected? What type of section are these maps in? I also could not reproduce the issues you described with saving map configurations. Any changes you make to the map (layer visibility, map extent, pop-up) while viewing the Appearance tab in edit mode will be saved when you click the blue checkmark. To change the basemap for a map you're using in Cascade you need to open up the map in the arcgis.com map viewer and make the change there. We plan to add map creation and editing as a feature of the Cascade builder in the first half of this year. Owen

Hi Dennie, You may be running into a known issue related to deleting highlighted blocks of text. For example, if the previous block is media (e.g., a map or image) and you highlight text including the first character following the media the DELETE key doesn't work as expected (see screenshot). Does this sound like what's happening in your case? This issue is on our list to fix for the next release (late Feb 2017). In the meantime, you can work around this issue by selecting everything in the text block except the first character; then the DELETE key should work to remove the text. Then hit DELETE one more time to remove the remaining character. Owen

Kyle, That would be a great feature and we have talked about adding it as an enhancement to several of our story map apps, but we don't have any specific plans or timeline for that at the moment. For now, that can only be done via customization by a developer. Check out this post on our developer blog that shows you how to do it. Owen
