First check to make sure the URL to your story starts with "https." If the URL starts with "http," you are loading you story on an insecure connection. Modern browsers will not provide a user's location to a website unless the website connects using a secure connection to prevent a hacker from stealing that user's location information. Because of this, we disable the locate button when the story is loaded of "http." If you still have issues, let us know. Also, if you have a public link to your story, that will help us investigate if there is a bug in the app.

I'm not sure exactly what is happening. It's possible if you added an invalid character or modified the app JSON through the AGO Assistant, it could have corrupted the data or become incompatible with something the app is reading. However, I tried duplicating you app in my account by copying the JSON data you used and I was still able to save the changes in my account. Are you able to reproduce this in a new crowdsource? If you start making changes, especially outside the builder can you verify the app save between each step.

Or do you have premium or subscriber only layers in your app? Even if these layers are public, they will still require a login. If this is the case, you can choose to store your credentials on the server with the app so public won't have to login. See step 5 of the help here: Add items—ArcGIS Online Help | ArcGIS

Yes, editing the layer popups in the web map is the "map editor" I was referring to. When you click "save" in the editor, it will save the current extent of the map as the home extent in the app. The map series app will just center the map. To offset it for the description, just move offset it in the map editor and save it again. To your last question about clicking on a point to change the tab, it is not possible in the hosted version of the app. If you are willing to download the app and add a little bit of JavaScript, you can get it to work. Here's an example The World is Full of Circles | Travel | Smithsonian (Look at the last "map" tab).

When using Map Series, the home location is set by the initial extent of the webmap (the extent that was saved from the ArcGIS Online map editor. If you panned your map and saved again in the editor, the Map Series app would use that extent as the home extent. Another possibility if you are using multiple maps, you may have checked the "synchronize map locations" option, in which case, the home extent uses the extent of the first map for all the maps.

I'm sorry for the trouble you're having. Can you share a little more information about how you're using the app, specifically if there were any changes before the story stopped being able to save? Do you change anything outside of the story builder? Are you using the app on ArcGIS Online or have you downloaded the code? What browser and OS are you using? Do you know if there has been any changes to your ArcGIS Online organization's security settings? Do you have a public version of the app that you can share so I can investigate more?

This is not possible with the Map Journal as is but we make the source code available so you can customize it. One of our colleagues has done just type of customization and wrote a blog post about it here: https://developerscorner.storymaps.arcgis.com/adding-data-driven-text-to-a-story-map-22a8c54f7ce6#.5pjpqstsl.

In the beta version of the crowdsource app there is no option to embed a video. If you have a developer on hand, we can supply the source code so you can customize the app.

The address field in the data table only gets saved as text so the app can display it to the viewers. The location is determined from the feature geometry saved in the feature service (not displayed in data table). If you open the layer item details page; click the "Open in Map Viewer" dropdown arrow then click "Open layer in new map with full editing control." Then click the feature you want to change, click "Edit", then drag the point to the correct location.

The two swipe apps do not allow you to embed them because they both require a login. ArcGIS will not allow it's sign in page to be embedded to prevent user credentials being shared with unauthorized websites (those embedding the page). Although all the content of the story may be public, the app requires a login because you have embedded a link to the editor version of the swipe app (which always requires a login) instead of the public version. To fix this, remove the "&edit=true" from the URL you are embedding.

I suspect this may be an bug in the JavaScript API in general and not specific to the Crowdsource app. I recommend submitting a issue with Esri's technical support

Do you have a public webmap and crowdsource app that you can share? I just tested a WMTS layer in a Crowdsource app I made and everything worked as expected.
