Neil, I must say although i have 'self-thought' to do a lot with my data, i am a bit of a novice. But you are right, the data is old as it was in the .E00 format which i converted to shape file formate using the conversion tool in toolbox in arc catalog before opening in arcmap. I will also follow your suggestion and see what i get. Anyway this information is quite interesting. I will have to figure out how to make it useful.

Ghana Meter Grid and WGS_1984, these two the first projected and the other geographic lies within 50m. I cannot tell how they were developed, but some are rainfall iso, soil maps, vegetation maps etc

Rebecca, all of them overlay but have unknown coordinates, (eg shpfile_1 top 3576.5; left -0.5; bottom -0.5; right 2455.5: shpfile_2 top 3566.5; left -0.5; bottom 3.5; right 2455.5). for the second 'favorite' too i have tried several geographic coordinates, and changed units to Km, one of them yielded a major shift but not enough to overlay.

I have several shapesfiles which perfectly overlay but the coordinates reference system is unknown. I need to overly these with other data in a differetn coordinate system. The coordinate extent is quite unique. I tried initially to overlay with several projected and geographic coordinates systems associated with the area out of which two showed very close displacement (about 60m). Next i tried different datum with one of the 'promising' coordinates reference systems (a geographic coordinates system) and also change the units but same results. Attached is a clip of two of the coordinate extents. I am yet to try the second 'promising' CRS but decided to put it out just in case i am missing something

I have done that and indeed they acknowledge the fault was theirs and has had it rectified. So finally the license is running.

I selected the 5.0 extension as a match to the arcGIS 10.1 according to directions provided at their website ( Overwatch Systems Geospatial Modules Software Downloads).

i saved the excel file as a csv (ms-dos) document and opened it in arcgis.it had only two columns, the years and the R values. When i tried to join with a map of the watershed of the site all the figures were converted to <null> sign. I tried with a boundary shape file with same results. I even tried joining the tables in reverse order but the same results, and i think there is something very wrong with the result. Any suggestions?

Okay, i used the installation guide provided and yes customised and loaded the necessary tools to the feature analyst tool box. I am not sure what you mean by registration process, anyway, I opened the license icon and inputed the necessary information to request for a license and that was how i got it (will this qualify for registration?).

I have installed the feature analyst tool extension 5.0 on my arcgis 10.1. I requested for the license and received it but on three occasion i receive the same error message anytime i tried to run it. Below is the error message; Current Machine HOST ID: E03A5F3BA669-368da4a8-001d92002687 Feature not found: ARCGIS_OWGCORE Feature not found: OWGCORE Feature Analyst - Checkout Failed Invalid host. The hostid of this system does not match the hostid specified in the license file. the data was collected from a single station, i now have the location of the station and the elevation, the challenge is how to extrapolate this to cover an area of about 15000 ha. I have looked at the attribute s of a countrywide rainfall map and tried to see how i could use a surrogate attribute (if i am able to clip the study area out), but i dont see the possibility.

As a follow up, i am trying to extract features from the clipped orthophotos in erdas using the imagine objective. I am working with the erdas 2013 version but dont seem to find the objective tool bar. I have tried various means but still not successful. How do i locate and activate the imagine objective in erdas imagine 2013.

How do i open a PDF map document in arcmap or arcreader?. Although the document has been saved as a pdf file, i have not been able to open it in arcmap or arcreader (arcreader will only recognise a .pmf file). Also Is it possible to use arcreader to open a pdf map and overlay on another map in arcmap without georefrencing?
