I found a temporary workaround and shared it with ESRI today. Since I’ve been trying to achieve the same thing for a while, I wanted to share it here as well. After upgrading to Monitor 2024.1, I discovered the service-check feature, which works as expected. It properly logs 500 errors and can even monitor a specific feature within a web map to confirm the service is truly working. This helps avoid false positives where AGS reports a service as running, but no geometry appears in the web map. Normally, we’d restart the service to resolve this, but the goal is to catch the issue before the customer notices. The service-check logs confirm spatial data is drawing correctly. However, the current limitation is that notifications don’t trigger when errors occur (e.g., a 500 error). Instead, Monitor only alerts on metric changes, not the result of those metrics. As a temporary solution, I’m using Collections to monitor whether a service is Started or Stopped. Collections allow monitoring of System State, which reflects service status. I created multiple collections based on projects with multiple services. In Expression Builder, I select all relevant services and set the System State to STOPPED (or STARTED). Then, I configure notifications to alert based on Updates. In short: Create a collection based on services that are up/down. Set it to check every minute. Enable notifications for changes in collection status. Rename the notification email to “ArcGIS Monitor Service STOPPED” to include a table with the affected service name. I had a simliar issues but it wasn't using the IP it was using the external web adaptor on some machines and then the internal web adaptor machine name on others.  All configured the same way and was driving me crazy.  We did a few different things but ultimately for my situation unistalling and reinstalling the web adaptors fixed our issue.  Unregister server with monitor, stopped agent on AGS machines, reinstall web adaptor, reregister with Monitor.  We also deleted the bindings on the IIS box (internal and external ports for 443).  I don't think that influenced anything but was changing too many things at once while troubleshooting.   ... I don't understand how this isn't a core function in the software.  I have many services on multiple AGS's and would like to create a collection of services per project that are of higher importance to monitor service status.  The whole point in having monitor for me is to know there is a problem before the customer tells me.  That's great I can track disk space and even response time on services but the fact that notifications cannot tell me if IT rebooted the server and interrupted the services or if they are just hung up is mindblowing. Anyone ever figure out a workaround for this?  When we add new features, then republish...the webmap doesn't update.  Adding/Removing services in the webmap gets old as discussed above due to losing labels, popups, etc configurations.  Any update  would be appreciated!  Using Portal, not AGOL. ... Hi Joel, Thank you for your response.  I would like to try and add AGO through collaboration if possible.  There is so much content that my customers are using it would be pretty difficult to always be adding directly to portal.  If there was a way we could just have access to both it would be great.  There isn't any documentation that i could find that would properly explain how to add ArcGIS Online to  an existing portal site.  Thanks, Garrett ... It's been awhile since I looked at the widget.  The first time I ran through the install it would show up in the WAB but would freeze the entire page.  "I think" what i did to fix it was silly, but it worked.  I just changed the code from "visible": true to "visibile": false.  Now when I create new webapps it shows up grayed out.  I click the eye icon to make it visible and it works every time now.  No explanation to why that works, but it worked for me and I have used it on at least 10 different applications with different themes using WAB 2.8 with no issues. ... We have over 100+ sites published to 8 AGS's.  The sites that are hosting SDE and/or Geodatservices never change.  We simply load data and use definition queries to limit feature layers.  For this it works perfectly.  As for the line of work, we are an engineering service company and have many GIS Specialists updating/managing sites throughout the organization.  Our engineers and project managers will ask during meetings to update the viewer with new data from KMZ or CAD files (expected turnaround 10-20 minutes).  We have really spoiled these guys and they demand instant access.  The short version is that this data is converted and added to the service, thus causing all these problems.  And really, it's not a huge problem, it's an easy fix.  It just causes a lot of extra work for myself and our GIS developer as we have limited access (for other GIS users) to such tools and we have to be the ones responsible for fixing these issues.  It would be a fantastic option to have LocalLayer reread the dynamic rest service and mimic the service.  The service rarely ever matches what was published in the MXD (Hide Layers, etc.)  I can easily open LL and let it reread the service and then copy and paste the "hide layers" in the locallayer for the app in WAB and then paste those into the live site fixing the problem.  I was just hoping this was already an option that i was overlooking. ...
