A colleague is currently working with version 100.4.0 based on Qt-version 5.9.7 Can anyone tell the minimum Qt-version requirements on 100.5.0 and 100.6.0, I could not gather this information in the "Prior releases" information. Here is the information I figured out, can you confirm that? 100.4.0 Qt 5.9.7 100.5.0 ??? 100.6.0 ??? 100.7.0 Qt 5.12.6 100.8.0 Qt 5.12.6 (last version to support 5.12.6) 100.9.0 Qt 5.15 100.10.0 Qt 5.15.1 100.11.0 Qt 5.15.2 Thx in advance!

When our problem arises my colleague looked at the build logs of suse and therefore he expected the symbol to be export. The missing symbol is really weird.

Hi! The problem: The ESRI-library require a symbol (operator delete...), that is unfortunately not available by the Qt-libs provided/shipped with some linux distributions. Workaround: We create a very small lib that implemts that missing symbol and use that to fill the gap. But you ask for a sample: That depends on the build system you are using. The zip file i attached earlier contains all information. And i provided also the resulting output of the compiler. Our hack contains just a very few lines. But you have to adapt it to your build system. (CMake, Qts pro files or what ever you are using) Actually we just have a CMake-based hack. Maybe @FatmaAkdemir can provide a pro file? Your are using Linux Mint 20.1, QT 5.15.2, gcc 9.3.0. That should be more then sufficient. So i recommend that you create and use a library to get experience. Afterwards you could try to create your ArcGisHack matching your system/compiler/Qt-Version.

Hi Elliot! Thanks for your quick answer. Unfortuately i mixed degree and radiant, so my results were confusing 😞 The approach you are suggesting seems to be fine with one small modification: i´m using distanceGeodetic. Thanks a lot! Norbert

Hi! How can i retrieve the distance (or something similar) of an object/geometry at my scene/sceneGraphicsView and the viewpoint/camera? I want to use this distance to decide if the object has to be displayed in detail (it´s in front of my scene) or rough (it´s more or less far away at the horizon).... I struggle using GeometryEngine::distance(gemeotry, currentViewpoint().targetGeometry)... Can someone point me to the rigth direction? Thx in advance! Norbert

Hi Mark! "but I will check if there is anything in the pipeline." That would be great 🙂 Our use-case: In our product we offer a 2D mapView and an 3D sceneView to display the current situation of a simulation and training facility. To get an eye catcher and to improve the display of an detonation we evaluate the ModelSceneMarker. You mean ArcGIS for GameEngines? Good hint, i should read more about it 🙂 Thanks a lot

Hi! I tried out the example Animate3DSymbols (arcgis-runtime-samples-qt/ArcGISRuntimeSDKQt_CppSamples/Scenes) I have a two question: What files type are supported? Just dae? The link to the supported QML-Types is broken ({https://developers.arcgis.com/qt/latest/qml/guide/symbol-types-described.htm}{Symbol types}) and i cannot find that by searching... The Bristol.dae is a static model. Are also animated models support? Any hints? Thx in advance! Norbert

Indeed, if forgot to mention the fact that this new lib has to be loaded very early (in the list of libs) We did this by adding that lib to the executable - before we add the other libs. Okay?

That´s what i had in mind when i wrote "our" CMakeList.txt. Of course you have to adapt that into your build environment. maybe you are using CMake, pro file (Qt), os something else. Therefore i was also providing the resulting command line. Okay?

Hi! I have attached a zip file containg our complete directory. It contains: arcgisqt5hack.cpp with the implementation of delete arcgisqt5hack.version with the "namespace" CMakeLists.txt with our commands To overcome missing information of our CMakeLists.txt, i provide the sonsole output. I hope you´ll be able to transfer that into your build environment. In your application objects/Graphics are created and destroyed. Now we recognize that the memory allocated by Esri::ArcGISRuntime::Graphic is not released. So our application runs out of memory is a few hours (instead of running days and weeks) I wrote a sample to reproduce the issue: 1) start the program -> 185MB 2a) I create 100k objects (SimpleMarkerSymbol) -> exisiting objects: 100k: -> 1008MB 2b) I destroy 100k objects (SimpleMarkerSymbol) -> exisiting objects: 0: -> 1070MB 3a) create 100k objects.. 3b) destroy.. -> exisiting objects: 0: ctc 3981 15.7 7.2 3351616 1186460 pts/8 Sl+ 08:07 0:11 ./MemUsageWithManyMarker -> 1180MB 4a) create 100k objects.. 4b) destroy.. -> exisiting objects: 0: ctc 3981 16.3 7.5 3404684 1233580 pts/8 Sl+ 08:07 0:23 ./MemUsageWithManyMarker -> 1223MB ... The memory isn´t released even if i destroy the a) the GraphicsOverlay, b) MapView or c) Map. Following Cases/Bugs are created: Esri Case #02675513 - Destruction of objects/graphics does not release memory BUG-000135578: Appending 100,000 graphics to GraphicsOverlay causes memory leak Esri Case #02688296 - increasing memory usage over time BUG-000135793 - Creation of an additional 1,000 graphics after initially creating 100,000 graphics causes an increase in memory usage when using dynamic rendering mode
