GeoTiff with transparency

Hi!

I have following workflow:

  1. Put a transparent foil on a paper map and draw some primitives
  2. Scan to image
  3. make background (white, created by the scanner) transparent (using gimp, photoshop or similar)
  4. Use ArcGIS Pro and georeference the image (see https://learn.arcgis.com/de/projects/georeference-imagery-in-arcgis-pro/)

Unfortunately, when i save a new file (geotiff), the transparency is lost....
I recognize this when the exported file is automically added to the map.
Same behaviour, when my application (based on ArcGIS runtime for qt, V100.8) is reading the exported file.

Can anyone help me?

Thanks in advace!

Export to TIFF—ArcGIS Pro | Documentation 32bit with alpha channel?

... sort of retired...

Hi Dan!

Apparently there are two dialogues:

  1. One at the context menue of the layer: Data | Export Raster.
  2. And on the other one at "Share" and "Export map".
This offers your suggested option "32Bit with alpha".

No 2. works for adding to ArcGIS Pro, but unfortunately not for consuming into ArcGISRuntime.

I worked a little bit with the NoData symbology. But geotiff sepcification and NoData seems to be incomplete...

If I export the map to a TilePackage (tpk) - if works for ArcGISRuntime V100.8.
But for the requested workflow a single geotiff (or similar) is significantly better.

Any hints?
