I was wondering, would state_id <> 0 in the states table indicate presence of versioned data? I dont care which FCs are versioned, but if there are any or not.

Thanks, strangely I can see one FC which I know is versioned but it is not in gdb_items_vw. Also the sql in the example wont return any records but I know there are versioned FCs.

I will need to hit the database directly to see if there are versioned tables/FCs. From these tables: STATES, STATE_LINEAGES, VERSIONS, and MVTABLES_MODIFIED which one is the best to query to get a definitive answer if there are versioned FCs/tables in the sde db? I was counting how many records exist in the versions table, but there could be 1 record, but still there are versioned FCs. In this case state_id is > 0. There are also DBs with more than on record in the versions table. So what is the best way to query the SDE db to find out?

We also have some user-schema geodatabases in our oracle DB instance. Will this be a problem, especially from updating to arcgis enterprise 10.6 point of view. Any information about dropping support for these US DBs?

We have oracle 11 SDE database with some possible versioned feature classes. Besides looking into the relevant tables involved in versioning is there any way to find out if a FC is versioned and might need compressing/finalizing. Thanks for the input.

Hi all,we currently are on SDE version 10.4.0. We think upgrading Oracle environment from Oracle 11.2.0.4 to Oracle 12. I see SDE 10.4.0 supports Oracle 12c R1 (64 bit) 12.1.0.2. One thing I can think of is that we need to change the oracle client on the client machines. Are there any considerations I should know about if we go ahead with the upgrade? What is the best practice for upgrading underlying database when we run corporate geodatabase (SDE) on it?

One more question here: After I did 1st data edits and sync/ed back to AGOL there is some more data added. Is there a way to only create a local copy of only the new data next time I need to edit/QC?

It seems so. But since no attachments are downloaded, and the resulting FGDB is ~5 Mb, it seems arcmap do some more checks on the attachments. It would be nice someone from ESRI to elaborate.

Zdravo (Hi) Zoltane, I am using 10.5.1, but this env setting is not something I use. Creating local copy for editing a hosted Feature Service Feature Class doesn't seem to use it either. What I want is for someone to confirm if this will download attachments or not. The other strange thing I noticed is that if I try to create a local copy on a very small extent, it takes 2-3 minutes and no attachments are downloaded. If I try to get the full extent ~11x8 km, with a ~5000 features across 27 layers, it starts but never finishes (at least not is 3 hours). ArcMap is not responding and is using a lot of network bandwidth. Local FGDB seems to reach 3.88 Mb in size and stops growing. Has anyone seen this? Is this a bug?

I did a new test on a small area when creating the local copy for editing. It seems that the attachments are not downloaded by default. So it seems there is no problem. It still takes time though - around 3 mins for 1.8 MB local FGDB. Can anyone confirm that the process of creating local copy doesn't download the attachments.

Hi Jake Thanks. Did I get this right? So the workflow will be. 1. Use your tool to download the data only (to FGDB) but not the attachments. 2. Do my edits to the data 3. Publish back to AGOL and use the option to overwrite and existing service. Is that so?

Just to expand the question a bit. I have 2 images attached to every feature in the layer/feature class. The total size of the FGDB is 7 GB. It takes ages to download and upload. I generally don't need to do any edits to the images, so is there a way to make a local copy of the features only, and do not download the images?

I did try it and it works in ArcMap. However one thing puzzles me - if I add a new attribute field in arcmap and then sync to the AGOL, the new field is not shown/reflected in the HFS. Like wise if I add a new field from AGOL to the HFS, I can see the new field in the browser, but when I create a local copy the new field is not is it. Is this to be expected? Otherwise I can change geometries and attributes OK.

Hi all, I have the following setup: A webmap in Arcgis online. This uses some layers and is shared with collector. Users go out in the field and add points, lines and polygons. Like this I then can export the collected data as FGDB and use in Arcmap desktop. I do some QC and more often than not there are errors and I fix them. The problem: How do I get the QCed data form the FGDB back to AG online/collector?
