I believe I have read somewhere that there is a bug causing this “No GUI components found in this Add-In. Add-In version does not match.” error. Can anyone confirm this? I'm wondering if I uninstall my Desktop (10.4.1) and install a different version will I be able to work around the bug?

I apologize for starting a new thread; all of this is discussed in the link Kory sent earlier, repeated here; https://community.esri.com/ideas/14092 Answers all my questions.

I need to convert a field to a hyperlink. It appears I can do this in ArcGIS Pro; https://support.esri.com/en/technical-article/000018754 , however, I want to point to a local “O” drive; (filepath, link name) <a href="O:\common\Pictures\CULVERTS\Mercer\N961 Sherrard Road\m000.390" target="_top">m000.390</a> . When I open my attribute table this field is not showing up as a link. Any suggestions?

I would be cautious. The bulk of your join should be fine, but I have experienced where there are multiple structures on a single parcel and sometimes they share an address and sometimes they are separate addresses. It sounds to me like your join may only take one structure into account. If a home were to have an unattached garage, would your join be a one to many? Think of apartment complexes and mobile home parks. In our case, the Parcel IDs were supposed to be unique, not recycled and specific to a single parcel polygon; however in some cases there were multipolygons that shared an ID - it was a single record but graphically showed multiple polygons, each with the same Parcel ID. As long as your methodology for data clean up after your join is thorough, you should be fine. Since you are at your beginning stages, another workflow process to consider might be ESRI's Address Data Management solutions; https://solutions.arcgis.com/local-government/help/address-management/ You might want to also consider a multipoint feature. So, this would be an environment where you would have a graphic point to represent the driveway entrance, another point for centroid of the structure and another one for the main entrance to the structure and one for the side entrance to the structure and one for the unattached garage; but would be a single record in your table. While this workflow sounds intense, it may make sense for a base for your feature as you work through issues in years to come.

Learning the new measure tool in Pro and missing some of the Desktop Measure Tool behavior. It used to be that you could click the ESC key and this would Clear Results so you could start a new measurement. But it seems like now you have move the mouse and click the Eraser to Clear Results and start a new measurement. Am I missing something or is there a way to code a key to mimic the old behavior?

Thomas emailed me back and advised; John, As part of the existing tool set in Pro we have the option to associate a picture to a feature by time. More detailed explanations on how the tool works, please refer to this documentation https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/tool-reference/data-management/an-overview-of-the-photos-toolset.htm If this tool isn’t quite it, I’d recommend putting up an entry on the ideas site https://community.esri.com/community/arcgis-ideas/ to be considered for future tool development. As a second option, the ArcPhoto tools (https://www.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=578d358a575e4a8ea067a180e00b1325) should continue to work in ArcMap at releases beyond 10.4. You might encounter an error message when you install the tools about missing help files, but simply continue and the tools themselves will be installed on your system. Hope this helps, - Thomas Emge

Yes, that is what we are using in ArcMap, but I was tasked with the duty of finding it in ArcGIS Pro - which I haven't been able to find it. Are you saying that I can use the ArcPhoto 1.5.3 download and install in ArcGIS Pro?

Sometimes we receive photos that are not geo-tagged. In ArcMap 10.4.1, I had the ability to download the ArcPhoto tool and assign an X,Y to photo. I can't find a tool in ArcGIS Pro to do the same. Does anybody know where I should be looking? Or if it is not available in Pro? Or if it is available but has a new name in Pro?

Thank you Melita Kennedy. Do you suppose that 102672 is an old code that was upgraded through a "code change"? I found this link for 102672; https://epsg.io/102672 I could find the EPSG 6457 online, but I couldn't find it in my CAD pick list.

I thought it looked like a WKID as well, but I couldn't find it either. And I don't think that 103038 would match the front part of the PRJ; NAD_1983_2011_StatePlane_Illinois_West_FIPS_1202_Ft_US Normally I wouldn't have the "2011" part and would be looking for 3436 or 102672.

I received a DWG file that had an attached PRJ file. This is what the PRJ says; PROJCS["NAD_1983_2011_StatePlane_Illinois_West_FIPS_1202_Ft_US",GEOGCS["GCS_NAD_1983_2011", DATUM["D_NAD_1983_2011",SPHEROID["GRS_1980",6378137.0,298.257222101]], PRIMEM["Greenwich",0.0],UNIT["Degree",0.0174532925199433]],PROJECTION["Transverse_Mercator"], PARAMETER["False_Easting",2296583.333333333],PARAMETER["False_Northing",0.0], PARAMETER["Central_Meridian",-90.16666666666667],PARAMETER["Scale_Factor",0.9999411764705882], PARAMETER["Latitude_Of_Origin",36.66666666666666],UNIT["Foot_US",0.3048006096012192],AUTHORITY["ESRI",103038]] My question is, at the end of the string it says - AUTHORITY["ESRI",103038], what does this mean?

If your network is slow, speeding up your workstation may not make a difference - unless you move all your data back and forth between your workstation and your server (sde) for every project. Would you regret the workstation purchase if you were not able to gain any processing speed because your network is slow?
