@Mitch_East I echo Aaron's comment about the app version; please let us know if you experience the same issue on version 22.2 I also wanted to get some clarification on the workflow that the field crews are doing when they experience this behavior - the failure with collection. Are they collection new features, editing existing features, adding attachments, etc? Thanks Colin

@ChelseaVSmith You can absolutely edit single vertices on existing features. Start editing a polygon or line feature in Field Maps and it will display all of the vertices of the feature in the color of the symbology of the feature. One of the vertices is selected by default (the circle is filled in white) but you can tap on any vertex to select that one instead; then pan the screen and use the crosshair to select the new location. You then need to use the overflow menu (the three dots in the feature popup) and select "Update selected point" - this will move the location of the selected vertex. I hope this helps!

Hi Zach, I just tried on an android 12 device and can connect to an R1. The name appears in the Android bluetooth connection screen as "GNSS:<xxxxx>". In regards to the Trimble instructions to not connect via the Android bluetooth screen...for Field Maps we populate the Location Provider screen directly from the Android Bluetooth list (you may even see previously connected devices); you must connect via bluetooth first. Just saw your edits: EDIT2: I fixed the issue by changing the setting in Trimble mobile manager to allow location sharing between apps. I guess this finally allowed the two applications to start communicating. The strange thing is that FIeld maps still doesnt show the Receiver in the Location provider menu, but it is obviously picking up the receivers location as I moved and also has sub meter accuracy now. It sounds like you might be using the mock location flow now where you feed the locations coming in to TMM through the integrated device receiver. Do you remember setting the mock location provider setting to "TMM" in the Android developer settings on your device? This is an option, just not the most straight forward. Going back to the original flow....It is strange you still dont see your receiver in the add Location Provider screen in Field Maps even after getting connected via bluetooth. Ensure the "Connect to position source" toggle is not ON in TMM before trying to connect in Field Maps. Regards, Colin

@RafaeldePedro This is expected behavior. For domain lists we store recent selected values at the top of the list for easier repeated entry. There are also recents available for selection on other certain field types but accessed in a slightly different way. Is this affecting your field workflows and if so in what ways? Regards, Colin

@ZachPoynter Sometimes they dont have obvious names under bluetooth. For example it may be listed as "GNSS08828" under the Android bluetooth settings (and in Field Maps). Field Maps would use the same name. Just in case you still dont see it, what version of Android is your device running? Thanks, Colin

Hello, Thank you for the details! Its not about having the TMM open or in the background because that should not interfere with workflows in Field Maps. However, ensure that you do not enable the "Connect to source" toggle in TMM before setting up the receiver in Field Maps as this will lead to a bluetooth contention scenario between the two apps as I believe @DamonBreen is getting at above. I wouldnt go as far as saying you should never open TMM but I suppose that is a good way to ensure you dont accidently toggle this on! Regards, Colin

Hi @AlfredBaldenweck , Have you checked the GPS details in Field Maps when you notice this issue happening? The provider should be listed there and it would be interesting to know if its still reporting the R1 as the provider or if it shows Integrated. Are you sure not sure falling back to SBAS by chance? This should also be indicated in the Fix Type field. If you have GNSS metadata added to your service try collecting a point to double check these field values as well. Please confirm the version of Field Maps and Trimble Mobile Manager you have installed. Regards, Colin

Hi @DavidPike, 12 is the limit for search within Field Maps (came over from Collector and Explorer). There are no immediate plans to change this. It is based on the area in view when the search is initiated.

Hi @Hala_Ghareeb , Do the field workers need to be on the feature they are collecting (ie can they use the built in gps as the location for the features)? You can set a required accuracy for the GPS that will ensure data quality in this scenario. If that doesnt help, the closest functionality I can think of is that we can restrict the use of the "Collect here" button, which can be used to place points at a certain location by long pressing on the map. This functionality can be removed on a per map basis from the particular Web Map in Field Maps Web. Regards, Colin

Hi @PaulPetersen1 , We are working on adding support for a referenceContext for related records in order to link directly to a related record in a table. Would this be helpful or do you have another workflow in mind? Regards, Colin

Yes, I should have clarified that! Tapping on the GPS tool will center on your location when editing existing features. We do not center in this scenario by default as the feature you are editing may not be at your current location. This is opposed to Collect with new features where we default to your current GPS location. I dont believe this behavior has changed recently; at least not intentionally. Let me know if I can clarify things any further for you or if you have any additional questions around this.

@CarsonG is this only happening when using Trimble Catalyst? For example, have you tested with the integrated receiver on the device? What receiver model are you using? When editing an existing feature, with averaging enabled, we should see the "add point" button change to "start averaging" but this only occurs when centered on your gps location. Please also ensure you have a valid fix and are centered on your location when editing.

Hi @CarolRudolph , Yes, the Layers tool can be used in Field Maps to toggle the visibility of the layers in the map. This can be done whether the map is online or offline. Colin
