Hi @GlennWilson , This is actually not a requirement and perhaps a note should be added to the documentation to explain. The actual technical requirement is that the (parent) Location Sharing feature service is shared with the end user in some way. The Location Sharing service is shared with the Organization by default so any user with the "View content shared with the organization" is able to access and write to this service given they are properly licensed. If you do not want end users viewing other content shared at the organization you could configure a "Location Sharing" group and share the Location Sharing feature service to this group only; everyone in the organization who needs to utilize tracking would then need to be added to this group and of course would need the privilege to join Groups. I hope this helps! Colin

Hi @MaryamPanji , have you tested with the latest Field Maps release, 22.3.1? We made some changes in this area that should alleviate issues others were seeing setting the referenced basemap. Regards, Colin

Hi @RiainGarcia , Yes you can accomplish this using the "open" referenceContext and passing the webmap itemID. There are some examples in under the table in this link. If the map is shared with you and is within in the same organization nothing further is needed; if the map is under a different organization/account you may need to pass the portalURL parameter as well which will sign you out and switch accounts. I hope this helps! Regards, Colin

Hi @SW-JosephBogartGISS , Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. Can you please log this to the Ideas site so we can gauge if this is functionality others are looking for as well? https://community.esri.com/t5/custom/page/page-id/arcgis-ideas Regards, Colin

Hi @jtmouw_NCDOT , Are you seeing issues across multiple feature services/maps? When did you start to notice this behavior? Perhaps you can give an overview of your data setup. Some of the things I would be curious about are: - Are you using Feature Layer Views? - Do you have filters set up (or View definitions if "yes" above) - Rough estimate of the amount of features in the problematic layers

HI @SW-JosephBogartGISS , Right now, setting a referenced basemap in the Web Map settings is only intended for use with maps taken offline; so to answer your question there is no way to force the local basemap to be the default when opened as an Online map. Is there a reason you couldnt add the tile package as a tiled service and add directly to the Web Map? Perhaps you could help us get a better understanding of your use case. Thank you! Colin

An update for all in this thread: We did identify a difference in the way Field Maps Web is setting the property for the referenced basemap. It is unclear at this time whether a fix will be applied to Field Maps Web or Field Maps mobile to mitigate this. For now, if you are having issues with your basemap seemingly being ignored in Field Maps mobile, try setting the "Use a tile package for the offline basemap" setting in the Web Map Item Details page instead. Note: you can make any change on the Item Details page and swap it back to activate the "Save" button. You can also get in contact with Support and get attached to BUG-000150151 to track this.

@MatthewKing Extended periods of time where the device is offline/with no signal shouldnt be an issue, in general. Based on the logs it appears that an upload happened to be attempted during a momentary blip in connectivity. We are likely not handling this failure correctly in some specific scenarios but its been hard to track down. Your feedback is certainly helpful. After this last instance, have you cleared the tracking service for this user? You mentioned you didnt have any additional issues this past Friday but I wasnt sure if you still had the existing triplicates or not.

@MatthewKing Comparing the device logs vs your screenshot of the multiple LKLs and timestamps at least one example seems to align with the stationary scenario I mentioned but that could be a coincidence. I also noticed a few failed uploads in the logs around that time as it appears the device is moving in/out of connectivity frequently. Is this common in the work areas? To have spotty connectivity?

@MatthewKing Do you happen to have the troubleshooting logs from the device on 7/21? They will be cleared after 7 days so it would be good to export those if you have access to the device. The fullname part is definitely strange. Looking into this on our end... Is there anything unique about the movements of this fieldworker when this happens? Historically we saw this after the device was moving for some time but then went idle (with tracking on) and after an idle period started moving again; at this point a new LKL was created. Any hints to track this down and reproduce on our end. Thanks!

Hi @MatthewKing. Are you still using the same devices on Android that you reported previously? What version of Field Maps are you running? Is the erroneous Full Name that is displaying registered to another user in your organization? Does the deviceID field match for all 3 features? If you have the troubleshooting logs from this device still it would be good to compare the timestamp from when the new LKL was created vs what occurs at that timestamp in the troubleshooting logs on the device. Feel free to share them here if you are willing. We haven't seen this reported in some time. Regards, Colin

Can the folks in this thread give me an idea of how you manage devices between work days? Are the devices powered down every day or left on and charging? Do the fieldworkers using the device always stay signed in between work days/weeks or do they share the devices with other named users? Just trying to get an idea of the frequency of log ins and app restarts. Also, please note if you are using ArcGIS Online or Enterprise. Thanks!

@kmsmikrud I would suggest reaching out to Support if you can at this point. I cannot seem to reproduce this same behavior so it may be more effective for them to continue troubleshooting directly with you to narrow down the cause. If you get a case number feel free to reference it here and I can keep in touch. Colin

It should work from the Maps list as well. Try force closing the app and opening again after you updated to 22.3 then open that map again; you should see that same Location Alerts screen. It may be because you had the map open before you updated the app. Colin

@kmsmikrud The "Feature tiling disabled" log is likely a red herring in this case. It sounds like perhaps you have eliminated the calculated expressions as the culprit but do you have any other maps that exhibit this behavior? Does this happen when you open any other "live" map or is it specific to the one you mentioned in your original post, with the joined layer? What types of layers are in the offline map? Are they preplanned or on demand offline areas? Trying to see if I can reproduce on my end...
