The easiest solution would be to just draw the height layer with an image editor (like Photoshop). Create a greyscale image, paint it black and draw with a soft white brush on a layer on top of it. The brighter, the taller the terrain.

First check its extent in the attributes. If it's huge, like 900000 to each side, the location's wrong. You could also check its location in 2D. Open a blank map, set CRS to 104104, load some vector data from China, then load your TIN and use TIN domain on it to get vector data. Zoom the map to extent. When you open the vector layer's attribute table you can right click and use "flash" to see where they are. Use ArcMap for this, because its "flash" option is actually useful, unlike Pro's.

Your leaf textures are lacking transparency, try generating an alpha map.

If you're feeling adventurous you can edit the popup file found here: C:\Program Files\ArcGIS\Pro\Resources\Popups. Back the files up first of course.

It just randomly started after a while but when it occurs once it always happens. It doesn't matter if it's streets or polygons. What helped (at least sometimes) was creating a new project and then importing the layer from the new scene. It also seems that using smaller (about 1m²) polygons reduces the chance of this occuring. I had the problem in 2016 and 2017. Can't share the project but I'll see if I can replicate the error with a smaller sample when I have the time.

Mileage varies, so I don't bother with it anymore. The data usually needs to stay in Excel (coworkers, formulas, etc) and Excel exports CSV reliably, so it's the better option.

AFAIK there is no other way besides Gear VR to actually view the file. You also have to upload it to ArcGIS Online and then use a beta app to download it again, after which you can view it offline. Unfortunately you can't just put the file on your phone right away and there's apparently no way to view private 3vrs, so this is a pretty public affair.

Whether Excel files work with Pro seemingly depends on the Excel version, OS version, system language, column formatting, random cell editing (even just clicking into a cell), the weather, your coworker's shirt color and at least ten other unknown factors. So far I have enjoyed: - data randomly getting jumbled up - tabs not being recognized at all - data not being recognized when there's a formula in the cell - data not being recognized because the cell was changed (just a new value typed in) - formats being interpreted wrongly - first line not being treated as column name - assorted fun with special characters Workarounds, sorted by effectiveness: - don't use Pro - save as CSV - save as xls - paste values in a new sheet (not just a new tab!) - upload sheet to MS or Google, then download again (for foreign language Excel files). Don't change any values later! Generally I stick with "don't use Pro" and just do my processing in ArcMap. When I have to use Pro "because it looks prettier" I just bake the joins into a new layer and load that.

Nah, the VRAM can go over 3 easily. After some more resource monitoring I suspected the cache being the real culprit here and let the project run overnight with a macro slowly sweeping across the scene. The cache is now 8+ GB and so far the error hasn't popped up again, so I guess this is the actual issue.

I have a small OGC building dataset (~135k buildings) that I've extruded in a local scene. The navigation and display shows no difference to Pro's usual behavior with smaller data sets, yet it keeps popping up its annoying "GPU resources exceeded" message (on top of everything - at least stick to your own program window). I've monitored the GPU usage with a couple of programs (GPU-Z for example, see screenshot) and none shows loads reaching even half of the card's capabilities. The card's drivers are up to date and it can handle other visually far more complex applications - is Pro's graphics engine simply not able to utilize the hardware properly?

I'm trying to flatten a small hill using a street. However when I run the align terrain to shapes tool, it just punches a chasm in the raster far below the shape. Changing the maximum distance unfortunately only influences to depth of the chasm but does not prevent it. What's the cause of this?

Added numbers while waiting for something to get rasterized. Will probably wreck anything that isn't text (use "") or integers. Maybe I'll add float/decimals/whatever later. Incremental updates, one line at a time

Yes it only works with text, you'd need some type casting to make it work with numbers. I'll, uh, look at it later.

I put the script in a model, see if it works. You should be able to just pick the layer and field you want to change. Text has to be in quotation marks. Reopen the table to see the change.
