Hi Eric I've tested a simple scenario similar to yours and both filters worked as expected (please see attached) with rows being added to each sheet. What behaviour are you seeing with your scenario? Best regards, Jim

Hi Jack Many thanks for the additional info. When you download your survey in Connect, does a new image file appear in the survey's folder? If so, how does its filename differ from the original? Cheers, Jim

Hi Carl The not() function might do the trick, as mentioned here: https://doc.arcgis.com/en/survey123/desktop/create-surveys/xlsformformulas.htm For example: not(selected(${FLOAT}, 'NONE')) If ${FLOAT} is a select_one question, you could also use: ${FLOAT} != 'NONE' Please let me know if either of these are useful in your case. Best regards, Jim

Hi Melanie & Jack Melanie thanks for sharing the thumbnail image and thanks both for the additional info. I've done some testing using your image (Stadt_für_Alle+-+Kopie.png). After publishing, the thumbnail disappears from the survey's tile in the Connect gallery. The image appears as expected in the field app, Survey123 website and ArcGIS Online items. If I remove the spaces, special characters and symbols (+ plus sign and ü umlaut) from the filename, replace the thumbnail and publish again the thumbnail is displayed in the Connect gallery as expected. I've logged this issue in our system and will post any updates to this thread. In the meantime, the workaround is to rename the image file and publish the survey again; or download the survey to Connect (which will refresh the local thumbnail file with the online version). Could you please give this a try and let me know how it goes? Jack Palmer - just to assist with our investigation, does your image filename contain any spaces, special characters or symbols? Best regards, Jim

Hi Jack Thanks for the details. Does the thumbnail display correctly in ArcGIS Online (for the feature service or Form item)? Would it be possible to attach the thumbnail image file so I can test? Jack Palmer and Melanie Lauffenburger - which versions of Connect and field app are you running? Thanks & best regards, Jim

Hi Melanie Could you please describe in more detail the behaviour you're seeing? Is the survey thumbnail not displaying in Connect, the field app or in the web app? Would it be possible to attach the image file to this post? One thing to check is the file extension - Connect requires all image files used for thumbnails to have a lowercase file extension. Thanks & regards, Jim

Hi Naomi Thanks for the screenshot. Just to clarify, as one tree has many assessments, you would like the species question to be updated with Tree_Species from the latest repeat, is that right? If so, this isn't currently possible but we do have an open enhancement request for indexed repeats (e.g. return value from first repeat, last repeat, repeat x of y, etc.). No delivery date for this feature as yet, however. Kind regards, Jim

Hi Kaitlyn Just to confirm, Doug Browning is right regarding pulldata - using pulldata in the calculation column to pull a formula from a CSV won't work; the formula would simply be returned as a string rather than being evaluated as an expression. Sounds like you're making progress with your if statements and calculations! Best regards, Jim

Hi John That's correct - Viewer and Field Worker user types cannot create content, so they are unable to use the Export feature on the Survey123 website. Members must have (at least) the default User role privileges to access this feature. Please see some useful info here: https://community.esri.com/groups/survey123/blog/2018/11/29/understanding-user-types-a-survey123-for-arcgis-guide And more on ArcGIS Online user types here: https://doc.arcgis.com/en/arcgis-online/reference/roles.htm Kind regards, Jim

Hi Mikaila It is possible to disable the Sent box entirely via the Settings > Sent Surveys tab in Connect. The ability to disable the "Copy the sent data to a new survey" option has previously been logged as an enhancement request. I will add your comments to our notes. No timeline for this to be implemented at this stage, but please see more discussion on this here: https://community.esri.com/message/729307-re-disable-copy-the-sent-data-to-a-new-survey-option It has also been raised as an Idea that you can vote for here: https://community.esri.com/ideas/13543-restrict-updates-to-sent-survey-records-in-survey123 Kind regards, Jim

Hi Brandon Great to hear it's working now! Just FYI you should be able to modify defaults and republish the survey without affecting the feature service. One tip for testing - you can essentially replace an existing survey by changing its form_id on the Settings tab and then publishing again (see more on the form_id setting here). Please note this will completely delete the existing feature service (and all its data!). The form_id setting controls the name of the target layer in the feature service. So you could use dummy form IDs while testing, and then publish your final version with the actual form ID you would like to use. Best regards, Jim

Hi Brandon Thank you for the XLSForm. I was able to reproduce the Send Error. It looks like the default text for the CAT_Cont_Comm question is causing the issue. Connect creates string fields in the feature service using a default field length of 255 characters (the structure of the feature service can be inspected on the Schema Preview tab). The text in the default column for this question is 326 characters, which exceeds the field length. I was able to resolve this issue by either: specifying a greater field length (e.g. 1000) in the bind::esri:fieldLength column; or shortening the default text string to fit within 255 characters. Hope this helps, please let me know if this works for you. I've logged an issue in our system for our team to take a look at whether the default should be validated against field length in Connect prior to publishing. Best regards, Jim

Hi Allen Thanks for reporting this behaviour. The issue has already been raised and our team are working on a fix for it, which should hopefully be included in an upcoming update to the Survey123 website. I'll keep this thread posted with any updates. Best regards, Jim
