Hi Heather, I did originally have IWA setup with a federated server but because Survey123 doesn't currently work with it, etc, I opted to go the built-in user route. So for Collector, I created built-in users in ArcGIS Server and secured a feature service that I published in Portal as a Web Map. Collector then just has me sign into Portal using a Portal assigned user account and then sign into the feature service using the ArcGIS Server built-in account. I can then leave the app running in the background for days and submit changes without having to log in again. For Navigator, it only recognizes ArcGIS Online as I believe I only have Navigator licensed with AGSO so far.

Yes, so to test that I opened safari on my iphone and put that URL in (https://servername.domain.com/arcgis443) and was then asked to provide login credentials and then I could see my portals homepage.

Hi Heather, Yeah I definitely made sure the URL is exactly right, I've tried it about 20 times to this point and I've put that same URL into Collector a bunch (https://servername.domain.com/arcgis443) and ArcGIS 443 is the Portal web adaptor. Because of the special certificates involved we mask the servername with a more user friendly word appended by our domain and .com. But as I keep getting the error, I even tried https:// appended by our actual servername.domain.com/arcgis443 but still same unhelpful error. Thoughts?

I can create a mobile map package in Pro and share it to my portal but when I try to connect Navigator app on my iOS phone to Portal, get the error above. I could not get navigator registered in portal admin due to myesri site not having the correct drop down choices as directions indicated. Any info is greatly appreciated

Thanks Owen, this is indeed good to know. I may be able to push your script into a geoprocessing service if I can't get Darren's or Filip's code to work like I need it to. I will follow up, thanks

Hi Filip, thanks for this. while your code is more detailed and looks like what I'm after, I'm going to attempt Darren's code above tomorrow morning. If I can't get that to work, I'll try yours next before accepting an answer. Thanks for fast reply

Hi Dan, yes could you give me an example of this? So in-essence, whenever a user clicks the map and has this process active, what would this calculation look like knowing the XY from the mouse click? It is important that the size of the new polygon feature matches the map (size = 10 Feet by 20 Feet). Thoughts?

Hi Darren, those examples look like a coordinates have to passed in though. Is there not a way to calculate where the 4 corners could be from the specfied point? I realize that the graphic or feature wd display in different orientations but if I producgraphic from this, it would at least have the correct dimensions and my template has the ability to rotate graphics.

Hi Dan. A symbol will probably not work because I have to assume the user can zoom in at any level they choose to. I'm actually trying to create a graphic (polygon graphic with corners) in silverlight but I wanted to prove this up in Desktop first. So is this not possible at all? If its too difficult to produce a polygon could a line be derived?

Hi Dan, A Projected Coordinate system is fine if thats easier. I'm actually working with State Plane Nad 83 Arkansas North Feet. It needs to be rectangular, otherwise I could do this by manipulating the point symbology. The angles of each corner can be 90 degrees but for simplicity purposes the rectangle dimensions can be 10 Feet by 20 Feet if projected then. Thoughts?

I'm trying to programmatically figure out how to create a polygon feature using just a single point. If my spatial reference is Web Mercator WGS84 and I want a 1 Meter by 2 Meter Polygon, how can I go about this? The point can be any Latitude Longitude, I just need to get an idea if this can be done or not. Thanks

Thanks Suganya, So based on your "offline" answer, it sounds like I could possibly create an app like this without ArcGIS Server or ArcGIS online right? If I just had the offline gas station buffers (using the arcgis runtime sdk) and used a method to determine of the users current location intersected the buffers, then I could pop up an alert to the user, etc. Yes, I would also definitely need to join apple developers group to publish any app properly. If I'm incorrect about anything I just stated above, please let me know. Many thanks.

Greetings, I'm new to iOS development and wanted to layout a scenario to see if I'm fully understanding the deployment process or not. If I simply wanted to create an iOS app that would alert users when they were within a mile of any gas station and I had the gas stations as a point feature class. 1) Do I assume I have to push out a MapService (gas station buffers) from ArcGIS Server or is it possible to deploy the app with static offline gas stations tied to the GPS current location in order to determine if the user has crossed the 1 mile buffers? 2) Can I simply create this type of app by just using a Mac with Mountain Lion, xCode, ArcGIS Runtime SDK for iOS. Anything else needed? 3) Would I just register for Basic Licensing and use the Client ID within my application or would I have to additionally pay for an ArcGIS Server license in order to push out a mapservice for the gas stations? (similiar to question 1) I'm just trying to get a full understanding if ArcGIS Server is really needed in this type of app, licensing, building and deploying it, etc. Many thanks.
