Joseph, I've never had any problems with the ConstructUnion method. So after reading your thread I knocked together the following VBA code to test it. I was able to run it without error on 40K and 60K polygons. This suggests to me that it may be an issue with your input data? Have you run it through the check geometry tool first to see if there are any offending polygons? Tim, Without actually seeing a sample of the error message I'm just thinking out aloud here. Have you tried setting the target CPU to x86 under the Project properties > compile > advanced compiler settings? At what point do the errors occur, before the console program starts or some random point during it? It sounds like something is being installed on your machine which is not being packaged up by your installer or is simply missing from your clients machines? Is it some horrible citrix setup and the libraries are not being installed on the clients machine? Have you checked everything is actually being packaged up by the installer? Duncan ... View more

I think this is a good idea but consideration should be given to where this description is held? For example Shapefiles do not support aliases, geodatabases do. So this would require an alteration to the geodatabase structure to be able to support it. An alternate location would be the metadata so a shapefile could support it. Store the field description in the metadata and make arcmap smarter so it can read from it.  I've suggested this idea before; make Arcmap smarter and take changes to field name alias held in the metadata to update table view apperances. ... Martin, The field deliminters in a file geodatabase are " and not [. So I'm guessing your line pOutputRaster = pMapAlgebraOp.Execute("FLOAT([Mann]) / 100.0") should become Dim sQuery as String sQuery = "FLOAT(" & chr(34) & "Mann" & chr(34) & ") / 100.0" pOutputRaster = pMapAlgebraOp.Execute(sQuery) On a side note you can determine the deliminiter using ISQLSyntax Interface. Just adding my experience to this thread. I've created a python script (Arcgis 10.1, sp1,(build 10.1.1.3143)) and have been running it in Pyscripter. It updates the datasources of layers and then saves the mxd. I've noticed that these green lines have appeared in the mxd layout.
