Good idea. I could put str(-9999) in the text ones. Thanks.

ArcGis Pro 2.6 I have a table in a file geodatabase that I created with a connection to a (non sde) sql database with table to table. A number of fields have empty (non null) values and I want to calculate the to <Null>. However when I try to alter those fields in the field view, I get Error 001625 failed to alter field is nullable Is there a way for me to make this work? I'd rather not add new fields that are nullable or create an empty table of the same schema and append the originals.

Add a new field to your block polygon(s) called Original area and calculate to equal the Shape Area field. Then perform an intersection of your wetlands and your block polygons. You know can compare the original area with the current area (OrginalArea divided by current Shape Area).

Great suggestions Michelle. Thanks for posting this. If I may, for those who include some sort of code, be it Python, Arcade, Java Script etc, please click on Expand Tool bar (three dots on the right side of Comment tool ribbon) and choose the Insert/ Edit Code Sample ( </> ) button. You can choose what language you are using in a pick list and then enter your code. That makes it much easier for people when responding to follow along the logic and help trouble shoot the issue. @DavidPike , my vb script skills are about the same as yours. I think the plus sign is being used to join the strings in quotes with the value of the field in square brackets. The ampersand concatenates expressions and Vbcrlf is a carriage return. Vbnewline is what I used to use. I agree though, Python is going to be around longer than any of the vb flavours and suggest taking that route. Label expressions are a great way to get started.

That error is typically useless, but you may want to see what relationship classes are actually being used. You might want to ask the customer who provided the asset package to you.

Happy New Year @XanderBakker . I set the sequence up just like any other I've used with a start value and an increment value. It thought an append would fire the rule as each record is appended, not as a single update. The cursor/select method works, so we are good to go. I was just thinking if there might be a better way...

I think the problem I was having with the changes not showing up after making edits in Excel is related to the fact that although I had closed the project, I had left the table open in the project. So when I re-opened it, the original was cached. That, and the experiment I did was with ArcGIS Pro 2.5. @PhilipLeGrone , the take away from this discussion is sometimes you just have experiment a bit so you know what to expect. Test your work flows. Tweek them as needed. Edited moments later: I opened my project and closed the csv, saved, and closed the project. Then I edited the csv in Excel, adding a row; saved, closed Excel and reopened Pro. When I opened the csv in Pro, my new record was there...

A couple years back the accountants convinced Jack that he was losing money with routes and linear referencing. There was change made so some of that functionality was transferred to an extension, but the name fails me now. However, try https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/latest/tool-reference/linear-referencing/create-routes.htm instead. Not sure if that'll do what you want or not.

I just did a little experiment: I added a csv to a project, then saved an closed the project. The I opened the csv in notepad and deleted four rows, saved it and exited notepad. When I opened the project, I was surprised to see that the the csv was now four records short from the original. What is odd though is I used notepad to make those changes. I used excel and deleted a number of rows and those changes were not reflected in arcgis pro. Can't explain that. I've been using a ton of csv files lately and the more I use them the less I like them as a data source in ArcGIS Pro. I'm taking data out of a mySql database to a csv; when I convert the csv to a table with the table to table tool, often times I lose date fields. If I first save the csv to a .xls the date files are preserved; then I use excel to table. But that's an additional step. I don't much care for Excel at all, and only put up with it because I have to.

I like that style too! I'm surprised ArcView even runs on a 64 bit os.
