I built a parcel fabric from scratch, well a lot of our city's fabric over the course of 6 years... moved on to another position recently. But to sum it up, it is an incredible task for someone to do - even a team. Esri does make it look really easy by stating you can migrate existing linework now and fix it later, but in reality, I don't think that is the way to go at all. You end up with a static fabric with no history, in our case, no record information because our data didn't have COGO data, and no connection to monumentation. You can't just fix things later because it's all a spider web. I ended up building our fabric by starting with the first recorded maps and built each quarter mile section to present time. Knowing fabric in my opinion is a true skill. One you'll learn as you dive into building it.

Thanks for the information. Yes, this is my problem. I'm still coming from ArcMap where it was a bit easier to this, and never was an issue. But I don't see the setting to assign static layer ID's in the layer properties under General?

Ever since going to ArcGIS Pro/Enterprise Portal, I have been having difficultly with publishing services to our Enterprise Portal. I'm not sure if this is a bug in Pro, but if you have 'Allow assignment of unique IDs for sharing web layers' unchecked in the map properties within the Table of Contents and want to share feature service, it will always have it checked, throwing an error before you share. This might be a feature that is done on purpose? Not sure. But every time I overwrite a layer, I have to uncheck the box. But the real issue I am concerned about is when I don't allow for unique ID's and create an independent service for each layer I share, I've had instances where the unique ID will change (from 0 to 10) after I have overwritten the service. I'm doing something simple like changing the source of the layer from a view to a static table or including new fields. This is frustrating because it literally breaks everything I have, web apps, maps, dashboards, etc. Luckily, I can use the AGO Assistant to solve this, but it makes me nervous when I am working with very important information that needs to be updated. I am using ArcGIS Pro 3.0.1 and Enterprise Portal 10.8.1 (I believe)

Because your active Portal in Pro is set to ArcGIS online, while your colleagues is set to an internal Portal. You need to makes sure you both are publishing to the same active Portals.

Hello, new user here of ArcGIS Enterprise Portal (10.8.x) and I have a few questions about exporting data either from the layer in Portal or from a Site. Let's say we have an Enterprise Portal and now we want to have an outside organization log in and use an account we create to download certain data to display in a map for us that they are working on. That user would have no privileges (viewer only) but access to a group to which these layers are shared to so it can be easily found and downloaded. In testing, I am finding out that Enterprise Portal users (in general) cannot actually download any information to their PC like you can if the data was shared on AGOL, for example. If a user can download from the Portal, it first saves the data to their content, then they can download it locally - meaning the user needs a Creator User Type at a minimum, something we don't want to specify. I thought maybe creating a Site would fix this, but it does not. You still need a Creator User Type. How can I give access to this account, which is set to a Viewer only User Type, to use our Portal as a 'hub' to download our data to their machines? Is my only option to do this in AGOL for them download it directly to their machines?

No solution other than downloading local and overwriting it that way. I thought maybe an issue with the data, but that's not the case. It's random and sort of rare when it happens, but only happens on enterprise data.

Thank you, your comment made me realize it was a change I made recently. I don't know if this is 2.9 related as I just updated, but looking at my layer list, parcels, which ends in 36 is layer 36 in my Pro document. I was sharing some items in our Enterprise Portal for another department and I remember changing: and Now, I'm trying to figure out how to keep the second setting UNchecked so that it doesn't error out every time I try to overwrite the layer. Edit: after trying every times to get the last image checkbox to stay unchecked, I have been unsuccessful. I'm going to assume this is a bug in 2.9. I checked with another user who had 2.7 on their machine and that box does not exist so it was added sometime between 2.7.X and 2.9. It also seems to be redundant since the same check box exists when you right click the map and go to its properties in the table of contents.

We have several feature layers published in AGOL that get updated almost daily for our public web applications hosted on our Hub Site. Recently, some of the rest end point index numbers have been changing from /FeatureServer/0 to something like /FeatureServer/36. All of our layers are published out of ArcGIS Pro and are always overwritten. There is no grouping, so every layer is its own service. My question is, how is the index changing and what can we do to restore all the URL's back to /FeatureServer/0 which is how all the ones that have been changed originally were? Below is an example of what use to be 0 and is now 36 for some reason. This breaks all my apps published online. Thank you!

The original issue I posted about seems to have been resolved. Can anyone else confirm? While we are on the topic of the select widget, is there anyway it can be modified to select objects that are outside of their visibility dependency? For instance, when we want to select address points to export, rather than having to adjust the visibility in the layer widget, can the select widget be made to select any selectable feature, regardless of their visibility scale? This would really make training simpler for inexperienced users who need to do simple exports.

Hello, I am not sure if the recent update to AGOL broke the ability to export to CSV using the select widget in Web Appbuilder , but it is now no longer working. It appears it is erroring out according to the image below. We were going to give a presentation within one of our public web apps about how to export address points using the select widget, but noticed we were not able to yesterday.

Good morning all, I wanted to follow up on this error. The original issue was fixed, and it it is much appreciated! But, on a few sde layers (using views) when I go to overwrite AGOL layers, I get a staging error 000260. The only way I have been able to get my layer(s) to upload is to export them to my local machine then overwrite the existing web layer. I hoping there is a way to fix this. Any input is greatly appreciated! The error code is posted below:

It has been, but I am getting other errors where I try to overwrite a large dataset from an enterprise geodatabase to AGOL and it errors with 000260. It sucks because this is a layer that always changes (parcels) and I have to keep exporting the data to my local machine to overwrite the AGOL layer.
