"Also, I am interested if there are any differences in output between the Arcmap and Pro versions. We have an external software that is completely reliant on this output." There is differences in the code that RHUG-AAGW has talked about but I don't know if anyone has tested to review the output at this time. I would recommend testing. That said it depends on what version/patch of R&H desktop your using as there was a bug found that SDE and FGDB exported different results. https://community.esri.com/t5/roads-and-highways-user-group-rhug-questions/export-network-bug-is-impacting-lrs-interface-to/m-p/1117095 Fixed in 10.7 Patch 3 https://support.esri.com/en/Products/Enterprise/arcgis-server/ArcGIS-Server/10-7-1#downloads?id=7940 Fixed in 10.8 Patch 2 https://support.esri.com/en/Products/Enterprise/arcgis-server/ArcGIS-Server/10-8-1#downloads?id=7941 Hope that helps and please share your testing results as many of us will be curious and will be doing similar testing within the coming years as we migrate to Pro.

Graeme, Glad to hear it is helpful. I would set a personal calendar appointment with this link as I update the agenda and connection information monthly. https://community.esri.com/t5/roads-and-highways-user-group-rhug-questions/rhug-monthly-user-meeting-agenda/m-p/1046315 In that thread there is also an excel file - RHUG meeting agenda master.xlsx that has all the previous agendas and links to all the presentations and recorded audio if available. It is also updated monthly after the meeting usually no later then Friday after.

Others can confirm but it's been my understanding they are basically the same.

Curves are not supported in R&H, unfortunately in my opinion. One place it's documented. https://desktop.arcgis.com/en/arcmap/latest/extensions/roads-and-highways/loading-routes.htm "For routes to be loaded and calibrated properly, source routes should not contain any curves. If your source routes contain curves, you can run the Densify geoprocessing tool on the source routes before route loading to ensure they will load and calibrate properly. For more information, see Densify." As I recall, the way I fixed them in 9.3/9.5 after we found them introduced into the system by other means (nice the tool lets you know and prevents them) was to reshape the geometry. Hope that helps.

It's a byproduct of temporality. You cannot create a new route of an existing timeslice. Looks like you still intent to have a gap when all is said and done is that correct? I don't like gaps as they do nothing but cause problems but yet they are valid to have. We try not to create and then not mess with if we have to. We use Euclidean Distance for our gap calibration. Your measure may act differently depending on the setting and how you model your lrs. One method I did today on 10.8 that looks good measure wise to completely fill in the gap that I could quickly see was to reassign the blue route with a later date then purple and blue to the purple route. Selecting the first gap segment as my target route. The measures populated matched the first gap segment. Personally I probably would have created a new route with the correct date along the gapped section to be filled and second gap segment. I would then have retired the second gap segment from the start of the gap section and then reassigned the new route to the existing route with the same from date. The image has the top half with the method I first tried and the bottom half shows the second method. Hopefully this all makes sense.
