You can also export save the symbolized feature classes to a layer file (if you put them all in a group, the you can export them all at the same time). Then drag and drop the layer file into the different data frame instead of from data frame to data frame.

You have the right work flow. A sink is a grid cell that is lower than all the grid cells around it in the DEM. In a DEM this can happen just about anywhere since the DEM is usually an average of the spot (survey shots or LidAR) elevations or interpolated between contours (polylines) and in the averaging or interpolating you can get a local low grid cell. If you don't fill the sinks, then the flow direction grid created from the DEM will "stop" in the middle of nowhere, so to speak. The link below my signature is a forum thread that has several tips on the Arc Hydro process.

Every time I try to connect using FileZilla, it is replying that the "connection refused" and "could not connect to server". I have tried using the settings manager and the quick connect lines, but no luck. I tried it and had the same error, but then took out the "http://" part of "https://mft.esri.com" and FileZilla worked fine. FileZilla did add the "sftp://" text in front of mtf.esri.com. I also put in Port 22, but FileZilla erased that even though it used it.

You can draw a polygon along the known watershed. Give the polygon a field with a large number in it, say 1000. Call this the "wall". Then convert the wall polygon feature to a raster. Make sure the grid size and grid coordinates match the DEM during the conversion. Add the created raster to the DEM (walledDEM). This gives you and artificially high ridge that will force the flow direction. You will also need to create a "streams" polyline layer. Make a field with a very low value (-2000) and convert that polyline to a raster and add it to the walledDEM.** The stream feature must "cut through" the wall. After this, using the Spatial Analyst hydrology tools: fill sinks, flow direction, flow accumulation, etc... (see http://forums.arcgis.com/threads/100210-Deliniating-Drainage-Areas?p=356888&viewfull=1#post356888). This is the "manual" method for using "outerwalls" as Arc Hydro does in its tools. I can't guarantee that the resulting watershed will fall exactly on the cells you think are the watershed boundary. Some of the grids may flow away from the watershed. Clipping the DEM using "Spatial Analyst Tools.tbx\Extraction\Extract by Mask" is one way to simply eliminate the grid cells outside of the watershed. You still have to make the "wall" polygon layer, but you don't have to convert it to a raster, etc. and you most likely don't need a stream layer. **Footnote: If you create the "wall" using a polyline instead, and don't cross the outlet, you can likely avoid the need for the stream layer and process following.

The only tips I can think of are: perform the processes with the data on your local drive. put the agreestream and innerwalls layers in a geodatabase make sure the file and folder names are not too long and make sure they have no spaces. Other than these suggestions, I don't have other big ideas. A while back the model builder model would crash during/after the stream definition or stream segmentation step. However, I found out that when I refreshed them in the catalog the str and/or strlnk layers were fine and I could move on from there without starting over. I believe moving the projects to the local drive took care of these errors.

As a side note, you must remove special characters and spaces from spreadsheet column names before importing into ArcMap. This is correct. Spaces can't be in the names. Use the "_" character.

In Excel, you can define a named range for the data or define the headings on the columns. Not sure if you have to do this or not. It has has been a while since I've done this and I don't have time to test my suggestion out right now.

I was thinking one could use the mulitpart to single part tool. http://help.arcgis.com/en/arcgisdesktop/10.0/help/index.html#//00170000003r000000 It looks like it does the same thing per this page. http://help.arcgis.com/en/arcgisdesktop/10.0/help/index.html#//001t0000007p000000.htm

Zack, I saw your post in the Arc Hydro Forum. I don't know if the tutorial is 100% compatible. I haven't gone through it myself.

You can "burn streams" (or culverts) in the DEM to account for water flowing under the roads. See these threads http://forums.arcgis.com/threads/100210-Deliniating-Drainage-Areas?p=356888&viewfull=1#post356888 http://forums.arcgis.com/threads/99125-Water-drop-trace Also, the link under my signature may have helpful hints.

I ran through the SA Hydrology tools to create one simple watershed and documented it. I created a model builder model also. See attached documentation. If you have bridge crossings and culverts or other structures that "block" the streams/rivers/creeks. You will need to "burn" in the "streams" on the dem. I documented this here: http://forums.arcgis.com/threads/99125-Water-drop-trace?p=352529&viewfull=1#post352529
